My bet is that it will be a hotel with the site sold to the highest bidder. Claiming that the location would be used for a museum just made it easier politically to get rid of Help.
just returned to usofa this morning after 5 days in copa. there is construction activity on the help / museo site. peeking through the fence you can see lots of workers, lots of materials, pallets of cement and rebar and some kind of weird looking big-ass piece of machinery. it looks to me to be something for setting foundation walls / posts / supports. now whether it will become a museum or a hotel. time will tell.
If you have Rio travel plans and have not check airfares recently, I suggest you do so. Almost overnight an economy class ticket has gone from $1000 to $1800. I thought maybe it had something to do with Rock in Rio, but checked in later in October and still over $1800 RT. Maybe the airlines think since the USD exchange has gone up that US tourists will now return to Rio. Or, maybe they are basing it on their load factors during Rock in Rio and the people pegging the rates are ignorant that a special event is driving the loads.

Rates are beyond $1, 500 from the midwest through mid 2012. I did find a fare for $1, 100 for mid Jan. I have that ticket on hold but would like to dream the rates will come down. Does not look good.

I used to get fares from the Midwest to LA or Vegas for around $300-$500. I checked on a flight to Vegas the other day and the cheapest fare was $1000. This is the major carriers, not budget ones, Southwest or similar. I can't wait until they start implementing more fees for baggage.

When airfares go up organizations look for alternatives to business travel. In many ways the airlines remind me of Brazilians. They constantly are finding new ways to screw themselves all the while thinking they are getting over.
After my post earlier today, I made a few phone calls questioning and a long time discussing one of the major carriers' pricing policies. I went back in tonight and now prices have returned to around $1000 again. BTW I did call BACC earlier today and the lowest fare they had for economy was $1500.
Is it me or do Brasilians wear braces for a super long time? If I remember correctly, most people in the states only wear braces for 2-3 years. But I swear I know some GDPs who have had braces for 4-5 fucking years! And it wasnt like they had super buck teeth to begin with. Is it because its harder to fix our teeth once we are adults rather than teenage years?

To me it's a bit weird to see adults with braces in Brazil. Braces are expensive so it's a status thing using braces.
BTW, many dentists in Brazil are worthless.

However, if you look around it is not just the wealthy who have braces. It is pretty much everyone. The only way they can pay for them without a credit card or other source of financing is to pay the dentist by the visit. Therefore, the length of treatment has more to do with the time it takes them to pay off the dentist than it does with how long it takes to straighten their teeth. Keeping the braces on is a form of collateral. If the dentist took them off do you think he / she would ever get paid?

You might want to check out Trip Advisor and AirBnB to see if anything looks good to you during the time you need. Many places have reviews.
