LittleBigMan,
Thanks for breaking it down, in giving your extended explanation as to why you feel a thai bargirl does not deserve to have something she wants for herself, a cellphone, while you go to the third world to get something you cannot afford to get in your home country, and along with it a little big feeling of power. Tremendous exhibit of self-awareness on your part.
First of all I live here and not to get what I can't afford in the USA, by the way what the fuck are you doing on this board you hypocrite and yet you have the nerve to make such a statement while you are most likely the one doing just that. I came here with a open eye and heart and regardless of how I came to feel like this about Thais, I try very hard everyday not to allow my negative views affect every Thai I come in contact with but it doesn't mean I shouldn't have a opinion about them. That opinion doesn't mean I have power over them. But in the conversation by Mr. E, it is only natural that the one that has the money is the one with the power or in control. Do you just give or loan money without asking questions in your life? The opinion I expressed regarding the conversation I use to think it happens only to me then I found through many Expat that have live and work here for 30 years share the same opinion.
You seem to completely missed the point. I can assume when you come to Thailand to get what you can't afford where you live! I'm sure when you land in Thailand you don't suddenly become stupid and just give your money away or overpay just because she is a bargirl that wants something for herself. If that is the case then you are stupid! When it comes to money that one earns you have the power to control how it is spent and if giving your opinion and advice to someone that wants it then it is power that I control. And if someone has the nerve to ask for something that they don't need (which is in this case) then they should expect a opinion or lecture no matter which country we are talking about but in Thailand the Thais don't see it that way! Bargirls in particular are taught that there is one standard for a Farang and another for a Thai. Tell me have you ever gone to someone and ask to borrow money or to just give it to you without a explanation? In the past I have even been asked to give a opinion on something and when they didn't like the answer they got upset just like the conversation Mr. E, had with this girl. It is as simple as that.
My self-awareness isn't derived from just watching and listening unfortuately for me I have live it and more than once. I've learn the hard way and hopefully you learn something before it happens to you. You might have been lucky so far in your life but your comment in my opinion makes you the biggest target in my book. A big tootsie roll walking down Sukhumvit? If yo are just a visitor who come to Thailand because you can't afford the pussy in your own home and only objective is to stick you dick in a hole this conversation is too over your head so please do me a favor and don't respond or just use the ignore button you pay for!
I usually sign off with my handle as a sign of respect to who I respond to regardless of whether it is negative or positive. In this case I sure you will understand?
Maybe you overdid the "DSquared2 Wood" perfume shower? Or the girls are more classically oriented. Try "Old Spice Classic Scent" next time. Guaranteed to work: if your grandfather didn't use it, you wouldn't exist.
LOL! Good advice Wolvenvacht! I'm going to try it next time I visit SOL.
But is this any different than most people in the West? Most live way beyond their means, run up huge bills on cars, houses, and credit cards, and if they lose their jobs, they are in big trouble. Seems that is one of the causes of the turmoil we have experienced over the last 4 1/2 years!
I have the greatest respect for someone that lives here and yes it isn't much different here than in the West except there are more check and balance. Even with them you have what we have in the USA and Europe as you indicated in the last 4 1/2 years. In the last few years particularly in Pattaya I see it more and more as to what is happening to the Thais. The financial institutions making it easy to borrow money, buying motorbikes and even cars that most Thais can't afford. I see new cars with the red license plates on used car lots Thais unable to make the payments even before the regular plates arrives. Used motorbike shops budging with new stock so many unable to even make a payment of 2, 000 a month to keep the bike. The last few years I have watch Thais go to the ATM or to the market like Big C, Tesco, and watch their card at the check point denied. Thais are headed down the same road as the West and I just shake my head not because I feel I'm better or have power but mostly it saddens me because I know first hand how hard it is to get out. I have no problem with anyone east or west owning a IPHONE if they can afford it but the conversation is about Thais and when it comes to girls in P4P, although a generalization it is the wrong choice since so much can be done with that money instead of having idol chic chat!
A year ago I had the fortune of sitting on the bus to Bangkok with a 73 year old former Thai government official who lived a number of years in New York. In our conversation he told me how sad it is to watch his people look so tired and sad and in his opinion it was because they are striving to be like the west most likely to pay for living beyond their means? He said the old days the Thai people look so happy.
Enjoy, LBM

Enjoy, LBM
I would say that even 12 short years ago when I moved here most Thais were "happy." The last decade has seen BKK turn into one big shopping mall, credit extended to everyone, political unrest, natural disasters, health threats, etc. All of this adds up to an unhappy population. Sad but true.
learn how to play the games of white lies, half truths, saving face & sanook. When in Rome, etc, as they say.
Do tell us more :) A mini course on the games of white lies, half truths, saving face & sanook would be useful for most of us in a relationship with a thai (bargirl or otherwise).

Planning.
Good people of the Bangkok forum.
I have been planning this trip for quite a while and the time is finally upon us. I am heading to Bangkok for 8 nights at the end of this week and would like to extract as much good times and value as possible during my stay. I have read through much of this forum on and off over the last 6 months however I am ashamed to say I am running behind on posting some questions and inviting some feedback.
I am a regular poster over in the Melbourne. Australia forum and would be happy to share insights for those interested. I will also plan on posting detailed reports of my upcoming exploits in Bangers.
I am booked to stay at the Four Points Sheraton which was decided by a few factors. Primarily as I am in a group I had to adhere to cost considerations, however based on this board and my brief email to the hotel. They are girl friendly. If anyone could offer their thoughts / experiences with Four Points I would be greatly appreciative. I also notice that the hotel is almost exactly halfway between Soi Cowboy and Nana which I thought was a good location to sample delights from both.
I am really keen to put together a must do / see list with the help of anyone willing to contribute. Yes I do RTFF however I would like to collate as many ideas as possible now that I am so close to arriving. Some of the basics I would like to cover.
- Eden Club looks like a must do to me (plan on getting there early and sampling 2/3 girls minimum)
- Dr BJs is another must do in my opinion. Would love to hear more towards other establishments of similar style / setup.
- Soapy massages. Again a must do and looking for suggestions on favourites or areas of greatest number of establishments.
- I recall reading some time back a place (Go Go I think) that offers pretty overt services in the bar itself & toilets. Was referred to as kinda 'filthy and in your face'. I think it was in PatPong. This is something again I would like to 'sample'.
I would love to hear from anyone that can offer a 'bucket list' of must do's and see's of the mongering world in Bangers. Funding is no issue so I will not be overly driven by a budget (however I planning on paying only what is expected and reasonable!).
Also has anyone had experiences with the BDSM / kinky places? Bar Bar Bangkok and Demonica for example?
Anyway I plan on another thorough read through of the forum tomorrow and will post some more specific questions / discussions shortly. I look forward to sharing my exploits all with you shortly!
Don't let it bug you, that's very typical. I was there last month for a pit stop. Busy with my girl in the toilet. 20 min later another girl comes in, I tell her to join and finally blew my load in her mouth. When I paid, the gal outside was sleeping on the sofa, looking bored.
SOL girls seem more depressed and down than the girls in other BJ bars. Probably spending 12-14 hours a day in these places, day after day, creates some type of craziness or mental illness. Especially at SOL which is really bottom of the barrel.
Especially at SOL which is really bottom of the barrel.
That's funny, I've always thought of it as the creme de la creme!
But yeah, there's no doubt that working at a blowjob bar is not the best way to acquire a positive view of humanity. I've known a couple of the SoL girls for 10+ years and it always impresses me that they're still pretty nice people at heart.

Answer to "Planning"
Good people of the Bangkok forum.
. .

Well, this is SOL in Patpong II. (one of my favourites by the way).
Even if it is not clinically sterile it is a great place. You can enjoy a talented BJ (BBBJ) (and even more!) in the public atmosphere in front of the bar desk. The "action" inside the small toilet booth is not at all attractive. So, stay in the open bar room and sit down on one of the two sofas.
. Also has anyone had experiences with the BDSM / kinky places? Bar Bar Bangkok and Demonica for example? . .
I have been at Bar Bar a few times but no experience with Demonia.
Bar Bar is not bad. You will enjoy hot wax play, bonding, some CBT and so on, however, it is not a 100% hardcore SM place. Nevertheless you can spend a few entertaining hours.
Please report your own impressions to the Forum when you have finished the BKK trip.
Take care.

Old man
I'm a senior. 65+
Do you think that I will be chased away in BJbars, massage parlours and so on?
I'm a senior. 65+ Do you think that I will be chased away in BJbars, massage parlours and so on?
Are you serious? You should worry more about how to resist being dragged in, rather than chased away.

Do you have money? That is all that matters.
You will do perfectly fine I am sure.
