I see new cars with the red license plates on used car lots Thais unable to make the payments even before the regular plates arrives. Used motorbike shops budging with new stock so many unable to even make a payment of 2, 000 a month to keep the bike. The last few years I have watch Thais go to the ATM or to the market like Big C, Tesco, and watch their card at the check point denied. Thais are headed down the same road as the West and I just shake my head not because I feel I'm better or have power but mostly it saddens me because I know first hand how hard it is to get out. I have no problem with anyone east or west owning a IPHONE if they can afford it but the conversation is about Thais and when it comes to girls in P4P, although a generalization it is the wrong choice since so much can be done with that money instead of having idol chic chat!

A year ago I had the fortune of sitting on the bus to Bangkok with a 73 year old former Thai government official who lived a number of years in New York. In our conversation he told me how sad it is to watch his people look so tired and sad and in his opinion it was because they are striving to be like the west most likely to pay for living beyond their means? He said the old days the Thai people look so happy.

The last decade has seen BKK turn into one big shopping mall, credit extended to everyone, political unrest, natural disasters, health threats, etc. All of this adds up to an unhappy population. I have been planning this trip for quite a while and the time is finally upon us. I am heading to Bangkok for 8 nights at the end of this week and would like to extract as much good times and value as possible during my stay. I am a regular poster over in the Melbourne. Australia forum and would be happy to share insights for those interested. I will also plan on posting detailed reports of my upcoming exploits in Bangers.

I am booked to stay at the Four Points Sheraton which was decided by a few factors. Primarily as I am in a group I had to adhere to cost considerations, however based on this board and my brief email to the hotel. They are girl friendly. If anyone could offer their thoughts / experiences with Four Points I would be greatly appreciative. I also notice that the hotel is almost exactly halfway between Soi Cowboy and Nana which I thought was a good location to sample delights from both.

Well, this is SOL in Patpong II. (one of my favourites by the way).
