Carriedo stuff additional.
I'm glad some found my recent Carriedo reports useful. Most of that was based on stuff I found here from a few years ago. I hope you have better luck than I did.
Just to add, I was also at a strip joint on Recto, after turning in from Quezon ave. There are two or three of them with touts outside. There was no entrance fee but I was there during the day, I don't know if it's different at night. It was 120 for two unopened san mig pilsens. Girls are not terrible, they actually had tall ones, around mid 30's but with flabby stomachs and thick legs I'm not really into. Mostly just standing and dancing on the stage. Some were good though. One even did proper stripping on the pole, hanging off it and doing some acrobatic moves landing on the stage in a split.
Quiet crowd of locals during the day, around four of the eight or nine tables were occupied. I don't know if the girls can be barfined or what the system is, I did see one or two talking to some of the guys at their tables, I politely waved off the first one that came by because I wanted to get settled. Nobody else came to my table in the 25 minutes or so that I was there. I would have liked to have stayed longer but the bass was too loud that day and I did not have time to make a return or try the other joints if they were any better. I would have liked to if I had the chance.
At grandpop. There is no shortage of good short time places in the area. Two or three sogos, Kamagung is also nearby, that's actually where I found the first sw but she made some excuse about the price being more expensive that day. In my previous experiences in Cebu, the bigger chains don't always allow streetwalkers. I don't know if that was the case here. Or maybe they have deals with the cheapo short time rooms to get a cut of the fee, 100 or 150, whatever it was seemed excessive for the type of room.
At vic. Yeah, definitely no need to add additional charges should you get into a scrap with locals by bringing a knife. I don't think the situation I had was as bad as it was in my head at the time. My first time there, unfamiliar place, wired from additional coffees due to delayed flight, punched a guy just an hour or so before, and the prospect of losing my watch to some addicts who may trade it for 500 p worth of meth, made me additionally paranoid that night.
Looking back, it was quite a well lit area, lots of different paths leading in and out I could have taken in case I needed to make a run for it. Still, not a place I would recommend for your first time so insist on booking at one a place near the main roads.
Found 5,000 Phil pesos in my safe. A sign for me to visit again?
The other day I was looking for a document in my home safe and came across 5,0000 Phil pesos (about $90. USD) that I brought back from my trip a year and a half ago and forgot about completely. I never planned on returning to the Phil but now I am thinking that this is sign for me to look into a brief visit.
So how are things in makati and AC and Subic Bay? Girls and costs and quality?
Any recent experiences would be great and just may entice me to visit again! Or do my Phil pesos just stay in my safe and gather dust, hehehe.
