This is my predicament. I get very few days here and there to punt in a year leave alone in a month or weeks. Hit or miss and bar scenes are great for long stays and people who live permanent in a place. This is why I am using the 'screening' process of MR so I know they are ok. I understand your situation, but I think you are doing it wrong. Quality of p4 p in Dubai has gone down substantially (but coming from KSA it may not look like that) and MR has its share of horror stories and I would not describe it as "screening process", you would probably be better off by using part of those months in KSA to find some girls in Badoo / Tagged and get them ready for your visit. I still think, under these circumstances, we can negotiate the WGs down. Still captive of my regular but when I'm not in country she even has trouble making money.

You forgot to mention the deal with Iran, the UAE (mostly Dubai) skimmed a non negligible share of Iran's GDP acting as one of its few gateways and now it will be gone.

Dubai has a weird cost structure, that is great if you are a millionaire (or a large firm) paying no taxes, but really bad for a freelancer of any kind (or a Startup) with ridiculous rentals and fees. The question of course is why would you be in a shithole if you are a millionaire, but that us a different question.

I do not think the model is sustainable, but changing it is probably one of the hardest things to do other than understanding women. In any case I think it depends more on India and China than Europe / USA, I really can not imagine a westerner risking buying off plan here but for Indians and Chinese (Iranians and Pakistanis too but in lower numbers) with limited options to invest abroad (not the truly rich, those can always go to London) this may be the only option.

Personally I doubt I will return, tired of poor quality housing (last one was really good but sold, with no car my options are limited to marina), shitty banking, 3rd world legal environment, incompetent staff in most places, and now poor quality pussy. Plus I am betting the place will get more conservative to appease the locals. I am sure many people will disagree with my views and claim that Dubai is the best city in the world and all that, good for them, no interested in a discussion.

So, tomorrow I will be flying from Madrid to Kuwait, two weeks later it will be Oman, but I am getting used to longer flights, the time and money saved by being based in Dubai do not make it. I can only imagine more people reaching the same conclusion.

I could of course be totally wrong and any of those visionary leaders we keep hearing about could realize that there is good money to be made by becoming Iran's Macau / Hong Kong. But I personally doubt the proud Arabs would welcome becoming second fiddle to the rabid Shia dogs and all that.

Called up Dubai Angels, asked for the MBA student (from India Natasha. Agreed on 2500 dhs full night (7 hrs max).

The * showed up on time, had a decent chat, was very self flattering, was like everyone says I am the best looking in the, yada yada, looking to join university etc. Fine. Offered her a glass of wine and some chocolates to get her relaxed. Through the process of booking I had told the SP repeated that the girl should go direct to reception, provide the ID and then come over. So after a good 10 minutes of chat when I asked if she went through the reception she said no. She started advising me on how safe the place is, she always does this. I politely asked her there is no room for discussion and she go do what is required at the reception. She notched it up a bit and said I am insecure and why I should give in and trust her (The next line of conversation was aggression from my end, I said either do what is said or return the money and leave. I tried calling her SP and she said I was a retard (yes!) and some other things like psycho, weird etc. I tried to grab her bag (not an instance of touching her) so she doesn't run away or something as this was going way over and while she was fighting with it literally dragged myself to the phone and called the reception and asked to send security.
