So the casino and hotel are owned by the same businessman who owns the bars and that same businessman owns the hotels? Goldenfield is a strip-mall setup and the yes the building is owned by one businessman, but the bars are not. Maybe 25-30 bikini bars max, and FYI the bars are there for locals not foreigners. Very few foreigners barfine because of the dual price structure and most find a date or GF online. The bars are geared towards serving locals, they pay the bills and keep the lights on.

I'm white, caucasian but lived in the Philippines so long that I won't get cheated. I also speak perfect tagalog so people are more open to me.

Kundutel is known as business hotel, on the weekend they usually have even weddings arranged. There are several short time hotels on the area, the Casino and Kundutel are the better ones. Behind all you can also find those roller door garages which are the real few hour stops.

From the airport to Kundutel I never pay more than 500PHP, sometimes even 400PHP will do.

You just need to be confident and don't let people see that you're ensure. And what it comes to the amount of bars in the area, I visited myself more than 20 and was not even half way yet. Not all are on the small 200 meters straight, there is also more behind the corners nearby.

Don't want to step on anyones toes, but this was just my observation.

If you know Tagalog you will get the local rate. Speaking the language helps alot. I can understand Bisaya but I get it all twisted up when speaking, and I still pay the foreigner rate.

Bacolod is a small city and gossip spreads quickly. The setup at Kundutel is best for them.

When you flag down a taxi in Bacolod for a return trip to the airport you have more power since there are alot of taxis around and you can bargin with the driver. 400php-500php most often gets you the return ride.

Well, just my 2 cents. I like Bacolod and have met a few online dates there. I stayed at Fishers about 6 months ago and had a good experience. Everything was in order there. Bacolod also has a nice mountain with 7 waterfalls mearby to hike up with your girl or girls called Mambukal. We enjoyed it for a change of pace. Be sure to take your camera and hire a guide, like Romel. Then take a motorbike taxi down for 100 php.

I didn't try 400PHP, I just offered 500PHP and it was ok for the taci driver.

I also don't claim that one owner owns everything there, that is just what I heard from the head waiter of the Kristines Steak restaurant at the ground floor of Kundutel. He also said that it's very safe to walk there as all the about 20 guards on the area are also under the same payslip. I had no reason not to believe.

If a foreigner asks a service crew member, taxi driver, BG, GF filipina or any other local a question and they don't know the answer they will provide you the answer they think you're seeking so they do not appear dumb and lose face. Getting "sorry sir I do not know" as an answer is almost unheard of in the Philippines. Just doesn't happen.

Locals for the most part think foreigners ask dumb questions all the time about topics they have no way of knowing. Most foreigners do, heck I do that! It's a cultural thing. In the west most people know about small knowledgeable things like the weather forecast, directions to a certain place, poon costumes and the like. In the Philippines people only care about the info they are supposed to know, not the info someone might ask about.

If you get a wide-eye look and the momentary pause to gather a thought from a local, chances are high they just made up the answer on the spot.

You need to be a little bit careful when you venture out on the roads into the area between Cagayan de Oro across to Ozamis and as far as Dipolog, as it is close to Lanao which has quite a bit of untoward activity.

Ozamis City is quite pleasant but very quiet and not a big mongering scene.

The locals of course all tell you that it is all safe but they are not foreigners and there are pockets of bandit activity along the roads.

If you are going to meet a girl just remember that rural girls are very much more "shy" than the city girls and will be nervous about meeting a foreigner especially if the locals see you together. The girl will also be very nervous about being seen going into your hotel.

If you are going to meet a girl, I would suggest giving her bus fare to travel to Cagayan de Oro. She will be happy to spend hours on a bus and it will be an exciting adventure for her, and she will be less inhibited in what she does away from her home town.

The regular has Just gained employment on the island and that is her nearest big town (1 hour away) , was thinking of trying to kill 2 birds with one stone ie visit her and do some extra activity in a different place.

Managed to get my end wet in PPS via a trike driver who hooked me up with an acceptable home / hotel delivery at P1500 and wanted to take me to a bar that had WG's available at around P2000. Have fallen into the island time lethargy and declined the trip, preferring to nap, splooge and nap.

El Nido does have a P4P venue. The Asylum bar. Went past this afternoon after learning of it from a guy staying in resort where I'm staying. Normally is an evening place but saw and talked to 3 of the uninspiring talents who might be considered a bargain at P2500 if one was computing value on a per kilo cost.

As other posters have commented, Palawan is a beautiful place but better to BYO Booty. Will be heading to Coron and will post my impressions / experience per a knocking shop mentioned by Sir Lancelot in this section.
