like i said before, a lot will depend on how interested she is in you. it is not unheard of for a thai girl to let a foreigner take her to an expensive (by her standards) meal and then not give it up. my advise would be to pay special attention the next time you go on a date with a thai girl. things like if she touches your hand are some of the biggest signs of interest (google it). i would also avoid the fancier restaurants and try to take her to places that she would normally go to.

At least once a day we ate at the same family run restaurant and I always smiled and spoke the little Lao I knew with the owners daughter. One night I asked the owner if her daughter (who probably spoke as much English as I did Lao) was married and she was so over the moon she tried to give me her daughters phone number and told me that if I wanted to do something with her daughter the next day she would let her leave work. She did not see me as dollar signs, but as a nice guy who would probably be good to her daughter.

Many Thai guys young and old want at white skinned chick under 23. If that is your ideal woman you can probably forget it unless you are willing to work hard for it. If on the other hand you are willing to date women 27+ who may have a kid and darker skin, you are probably golden. It's not lowering your expectations, just adjusting them.
Before he broke up with her to travel, a buddy of mine had a young (23) white skinned girlfriend. He did not meet her at a bar, he met her because one night he was out with a group of his Thai friends who knew her and her friends. He confided in me that he felt really lucky because he knew that she was physically the type of woman that all his Thai buddies wanted and before they got serious there was no shortage of Thai men trying to win her affections. He told me that in the end she did not pick him because of money (he's actually had to borrow money from Thais some months to stay afloat) but because he put the work in, learning her culture and showing that he could treat her how she wanted to be treated.

I have mostly used only P4P up to this point. I was wondering if I should have been more aggressive with her. I thought my intentions were quite clear. I was thinking, she seems to really be into this TV show, I'll wait til it's over and then make my move. Maybe I should have just let her watch over my shoulder. What you have mentioned here is a general guide on how to find short term or long term Thai girlfriends, is not exclusive to Chiang Mai and can pertain anywhere in Thailand and perhaps anywhere in the world, or how to get her knickers off in four easy steps.

I don't think you have to be in your 20s or 30s to be willing to spend a night trying to get in a Thai girls pants or a few weeks prior to your visit trying to set up dates via one of the many internet sites. I am also not advocating that you spend a large amount of time on courtship I am only saying that you should do what it takes to get her back to your hotel room. If you are like many foreigners I met and your first line is "How much?" or "I can take care of you", then your options will be limited. If you present yourself as a walking ATM then you will be treated like one. If you make it known that you will not walkaway even in the face of an unfair deal then you will be taken advantage of. The only thing more amazing than the number of western men who send money every month to women they see for 2 weeks a year is the number of those women who are happy with only one sponsor. Especially in Udon I noticed a trend amount the 30- girls, they would get one sponsor who was usually 45- and then proceed to fuck guys they liked for free or rock bottom prices while he was gone.
You're absolutely right, some college girls would not be seen dead with a foreigner unless he is a member of their extended social circle. That does not mean that many of them are not curious about sex with a foreigner. I have met at least 3 foreigners who have reported success having sex with young college aged girls in Chiang Mai. For most it is a one night stand where the girl just wants to try having sex with a foreigner.
I don't disagree about the commercial sex options being curtailed, the current state of things is sad compared to the good old days stories I heard when I was there. However, there are options available if you are willing to look but some of them are directed towards the locals Thais and not foreign men. That means that if you go to a soapy you will probably get a girl how does not speak English and who will probably not give you a GFE because that is not what the average Thai man seems to want.
I sent you a PM with a link to a website that advertises sideline girls and that talks about the various soapies in Chiang Mai. The site owner also details his strategy for meeting university girls and some of the places he goes out to. Although he comes off as a huge dick in many of his posts, I would have buy him a beer and talk to him if I were still in Chiang Mai and I would suggest that you do the same.

If you are like many foreigners I met and your first line is "How much?" or "I can take care of you", then your options will be limited. If you present yourself as a walking ATM then you will be treated like one. If you make it known that you will not walkaway even in the face of an unfair deal then you will be taken advantage of. The only thing more amazing than the number of western men who send money every month to women they see for 2 weeks a year is the number of those women who are happy with only one sponsor. Especially in Udon I noticed a trend amount the 30- girls, they would get one sponsor who was usually 45- and then proceed to fuck guys they liked for free or rock bottom prices while he was gone.
You're absolutely right, some college girls would not be seen dead with a foreigner unless he is a member of their extended social circle. That does not mean that many of them are not curious about sex with a foreigner. I have met at least 3 foreigners who have reported success having sex with young college aged girls in Chiang Mai. For most it is a one night stand where the girl just wants to try having sex with a foreigner.
I don't disagree about the commercial sex options being curtailed, the current state of things is sad compared to the good old days stories I heard when I was there. However, there are options available if you are willing to look but some of them are directed towards the locals Thais and not foreign men. That means that if you go to a soapy you will probably get a girl how does not speak English and who will probably not give you a GFE because that is not what the average Thai man seems to want.

I was haggling with a songtao (red truck) driver over the price to Central Plaza. I finally said, I'll just walk. On the way back a kid on a motorbike pulls over and asks,"where you go?" I said,"for a walk"."Please mister, please. I no have money. You give me 100 baht I no buy deisel" I told him in Thai: "Do you see me walking? If you can't afford deisel, maybe you should do the same". He just rode off.
I'm starting to get a bad attitude. Definitely time for a quick trip to Bangkok.
