Yup, you be right. I just bought todays edition (got lucky). No ads at all for massage parlors but a few independent ads. I will never fall for those again. Looks like we will have to do things the old fashioned way and just beat feet.

I notice Mugroso mentions the "independent ads" in the newspaper. I have often wondered about them in the Diario classifieds as well as the ads in the PM newspaper. Has anyone checked these out?? Any good, prices, etc.??

Sitting in my office as usual, just checking out the wonderful world of hobbying when I checked the bridge times. MAN, 7 minutes at noon and it was 5 past 1. Needless to say I ran to my truck and was off to J-town. I kept going through my head, genesis, venus, parasio, which one, which one. Cowboys. Good food reasonable drinks and TVS wall to wall.
Not a poon club but a fun place to catch a game. Its in the vacinity of Caesar's Palace, down from and on the same side of the street as Luxxor and well before you get to the mercado.

On Ave Juarez around 1AM, while heading to the bridge to go home, I see this stumbling local making his way down the street with 2 bike cops behind him, watching him and looking ready to stop and talk to him. This is about 3 or 4 blocks from the bridge. As the local passes me, they find I'm more interesting. "Hey mister..." she says. We go thru the usual routine and search about drugs and weapons and blah blah blah. And then they find it...
A few years ago, I had a very slight incident that resulted in the doctor giving me a small bottle of liquid spray nitro - for the heart. I've never used it and never needed it but tend to take it with me "just in case". NEVER had a problem - airports, Mexican Police - never a problem. I tell them what it is and what it's for - end of story.
These two found it interesting because it didn't have my name etc. on it, as a standard script bottle would. It was a small doctor sample type of bottle. "It could be a controlled substance and you might be carrying it illegally because you have no prescription as proof as is our law" is what, more or less, was explained to me.
While waiting for "their boss" to arrive ("he knows the paramedics") the male cop further explains that we might need to test it by a judge and maybe you pay a fine if it's illegal to have without a prescription in Mexico or maybe you can just go." Nothing was in an intimidating manner and I acted as if it was more of an inconvenience over nothing than anything else.
"Their boss" rolls up on his bike and, as I expected, didn't know a damn thing about what he was looking at. Yet another pat down w/out a problem but he did start acting a little bored with why he was there. At that time, I explained to the first cop that I've never used it - it's just in case and blah blah and I got people waiting for me and blah blah I just as soon you take it or throw it away or whatever and blah blah.
The bored cop said something to the first two that I didn't understand but toned-out as something like a 'why waste our time' type of comment. The first cop was then "nice enough" to let me go 'this time with a warning'. Sheesh.
Anyway - the moral of the story is if you have ANY meds of the office sample variety or are without full legit proof of "ownership" - leave it on the other side. They even spent 5 minutes discussing my grocery store throat lozenge. They aren't too bright and look for any reason...
On a side note, regarding the Oregon St peddy-path that went into effect on the 4th for the Santa Fe bridge - it sucks. It seems like a very long walk and a mugging in the waiting. At that time of nite, it's desolate - nothing anywhere but a very low sun canopy. I can see where the girls coming back might have a problem with harassment or what not. I'm glad it's only temporary... 2 years worth of temporary...

It's more of a higher class Bennegins. By the way Bennegins is a litttle past "la curva" and the "Juarez mall." Or is that Apple Bees?
You might want to try the "Polo Club" located in the same parking lot as "Seguros" (in red and white letters" on Ave. Lincoln (the free bridge on the Mexican side.) It's on the eastside of the street. There is a huge, HUGE, nightclub located within the same bdlg.
I took my girlfriend and her friend to Rio Nilo last Saturday to see the band Los Frontera. The girls got invited on stage to dance with the band for a few songs. The show got written up in the Monday PM (the Juarez tabloid). Diana and her friend Zulema got a full page photo in the middle. If you got a 12/3 edition of PM, check it out. This isn't totally off topic, you may remember Diana from Las Vegas.

As an aside the Bennigans in El Paso changed there menu a while back and I dont like it as much, also not a good place to see a sporting event. Applebees in Juarez is great for one thing in my mind. You can buy "El Indio" beer on draft in the large "Brutus" mugs. Very hard to get draft beer in Juarez.

got home from work a little passed 3 checked email, the forums and logged on to kumawar, a free one shooter online video game. killed a few, a few killed me. all the while thoughts of being naked in a small room on a rickety table being oiled down by a strange woman danced through my head. fuck it. so 10 till 4 i put on my chicken suit and headed off to juarez.
