If you like Pattaya, you´ll like Sosua.

Santo Domingo has chica friendly hotels starting at 40 dollars per night. Probably similar prices for chica friendly hotels can be found in Boca Chica, Puerto Plata and Sosua. There are places where you can stay starting at 25 dollars, but those rooms are usually without air conditioning.

Numerous casas in Santo Domingo, prices from 1500 pesos and up. One other guy on this board has posted that it is possible to get streetwalkers in Santo Domingo for 500 pesos and have sex in the car while parked in a parking lot. Most street walkers in Santo Domingo will request 1000 pesos and up.

Prices are set at Blackbeards in Puerto Plata, I believe 1500 pesos short time. I am not sure what the prices are at Field of Dreams.

Sosua prices vary. Some guys get chicas in Sosua for 1000 pesos. Some Sosua chicas ask for 2000 pesos and up.

In Sosua you will not really need a car or taxi (unless you want to venture to another town).

If you want to venture to the different venues in Santo Domingo you will need to take taxis. In Santo Domingo some venues and street walkers are located close to the malecon and avenida independencia within walking distance of several budget chica friendly hotels.

There are not necessarily different types of chicas in the different towns/cities. Chicas from Santo Domingo and other towns travel to Puerto Plata and Sosua to make money.

Probably most logical path to take if you have to fly into santo domingo (sdq). From SDQ Airport go to Boca Chica for one night or two nights, then go to Santo Domingo for one or two nights, then Puerto Plata (blackbeards then field of dreams), then Sosua. Whatever place you like the best you can travel back to until your vacation is over. You have two weeks, plenty of time to explore.

Also depends what type of chicas you prefer, generally more Haitian chicas can be found in Sosua.

Not really.
Pattaya has some infrastructure with regards to food,malls etc not to mention friendly bars,bargirls,go go places.
Sosua on the other hand has none of these. There are only few bars which gets hopping by 10 pm. Ofcourse there are streetwalkers all times of the day just like pattaya if that is your thing.
Pattaya has excellent public transport system,good beaches and sightseeing like going to islands etc.
In Sosua you need to rent a car if you are going to be travelling around. Catching a taxi all the time is the same price as renting a car.
I found girls in Pattaya are much more friendlier and GFE than Sosua.
Sosua is a very small place , you can probably tour the entire place walking within an hour. And ofcourse you have to like Black girls or bordering on black. only sometimes you can get columbian looking white girls if they happened to be from La vega, Santiago etc.
Only thing is since Sosua is only couple of hours flight from east coast you could be hammering away within a short time and there is no jetlag to speak of. Sosua can be a weekend fun destination.
For Pattaya and Thailand in general you need min 2 weeks to enjoy.

arrived sdq noon thursday 23rd. after getting luggage they have this long runway with people on both sides waiting. its the closest i'll get to being a celebrity. at the end of the runway i saw a guy holding an advertisement for gogo taxi. my stupid ass smiled thinking someone sent a taxi for me. the problem with that is no one knew when i was coming. passed gogo taxi and negoitiated a 35 dollar cab ride to palacio. i tried to write directions down, ocean on left, past naval academy. then he went thru this maze of one way, over the hill, do a you-turn streets. arrive palacio 1pm. great hotel, nice owner, courteous employees but the ancient desighn combined with modern technology is amazing. well worth 62 per night. went to el conde then the park to people watch. Thanks for all the replies guys. I've made up my mind to go to Sosua, although as I'm flying out of SDQ I'll spend a day or 2 either side in SD/BC.

Just got back to work from a nice visit to DR. I rarely work late but I needed to catch up on a few things. When around 7PM the cleaning crew shows up, and it's like I'm back in DR. La Parada is 2500 so a "drop" to 3000 is really a raise. Apparently there are places that charges a premium to USA people. Interesting report GoGo.

Flew in on Spirit Airlines from Fort Lauderdale, cheap seats but thats okay for the 1:45 flight. Had a bit of a surprise at the airport when I had to pay $10 arrival tax. Shouldn't that be part of the ticket-extras costs? Changed money at the airport 1$ = 31. 7 pesos. There are better rates downtown but that was enough to get me started. I found the best rate was $1 = 36 pesos at the cambio in the Atlantis casino attached to the Intercontinental. Pesos are handy but dollars work too at most places. The exchange rate varies a lot if you pay with dollars. The restaurant at Conde in the Zona Colonial only gave me 1$ = 29 pesos, a rip-off. Speaking of rip-offs, $40 for a taxi ride into Santo Domingo is crazy. Not much wiggle room there either. In hindsight I should have shared a taxi with a French guy at the taxi stand who was also going into town but to a different hotel.

I didn't have a reservation but just showed up at the Hotel Jaguar and they had a room for $55 with a king bed and a connection to the internet. So I took that but moved on the next night. Jaguar is comfortable and the staff are friendly but the 2 block walk off the main street scared me a bit after dark so I moved on. Stayed in the Razior the next night. Have to say the Jaguar was more comfortable but the location for Razior on Av Indepencia was better. Mucho street walkers on Av Indepencia. Price at Razior was $58. Razior isn't as comfortable as Jaguar. The beds are smaller and harder, the elevator works sometimes, and internet is only available in the lobby. Tomorrow I'll try somewhere else.

I went wandering the first night and bumped into Rafere, a 'tour guide'. He just kind of attached himself to this wandering gringo. I was dumb enough to let him attach as I wandered around. When I got around to asking him what he was doing he told me he was a 'tour guide' and asked for a tip. I gave him some loose pesos and told him I wanted to wander without a guide. Nice friendly guy but didn't really want him to guide me around.

I eventually wandered into La Parada and found an unresistable Dominicana. 3000 take-out payable at the bar. Had to do it and no regrets other than the 3000. I think there is more pussy available for less. I had some offers on the street for 1500 and even a quick blow job for 700, but you never know what you are getting on the street. Maybe later. In La Parada I got to sample the goods before making the commitment and she smelled sweet, so. You know. And it was good.

Day 2. Went walking to catch some local color and ended up in Zona Colonial. The cathedral is impressive and I enjoyed seeing the 500 years old stoneworks around the Zona Colonial. Walked down Conde but it was all artwork and souvenir shops. Not much eye candy in the middle of the day. Stopped for a Presidente at the restaurant at Hotel Conde, that's where I got ripped on the exchange rate. Walked back along the waterfront road (Malecon?). All the garbage in the water, along the shore, everywhere, and with the smell, left an impression I won't forget. But it is what it is.

The horns came out after dark and I tried a streetwalker. This was preceded with a bottle of Brugal & coke so I was up for anything. Ended up paying 1500 instead of the 1000 she quoted but that was for the pussy add-on instead of just a BJ. My negotiating skills are weak and I bought the sob story. No regrets though. It was half the price of the night before and an adventure.

So ended Day 2.

Day 3. Decided to move on again since I had seen everything I wanted to see in Santo Domingo. Caught the bus to Boca Chica about noon on Day 3. This internet thing is great and thanks to all the contributors I was able to figure out how to get to Boca Chica on the bus. A taxi took me to the Parada de Autobus for 250 and I boarded a fully crowded mini-bus. It left about 15 minutes later and took about 30 minutes to get to Boca Chica. Numerous stops on the outskirts of Boca Chica to let small groups off the bus but eventually stopped by the beach at the west end of Boca Chica. Cost was 60 pesos paid on the bus to a conductor sort-of guy. I had read good things about Hotel Zapata and it was close to the bus stop so I tried there first. I was quoted $65/night plus $5 for internet access. The hotel looks nice, the room was so-so. Kept looking and saw Hotel Coco Playa next, also on the beach. It was $50/night with free internet in the bar area so I took that. The room looked about the same as Zapata. This is as far as I have come on Day 3 so far. I am writing this as I sit in the bar area, an open air bar right on the beach with good people-watching attractions. The bartender girls look cute. Maybe later.

Walked around the town to explore and found some other hotels. El Candil looked good and quoted me $55 so I'll move on Day 4. Coco Playa didn't have hot water in the room! Lots of money-changing places in BC and good rates: 1$ = 36 pesos. Night life was interesting, I was stalked by several putas. Unfortunately too much Brugal rum interfered with my performance. I tried anyway and took one back to the room for 1000. She got pissed off when she couldn't make me cum (professional pride?) and left after an hour or so. That's okay, I pretty much passed out after that. I'm writing this on the morning of Day 4, my last day in DR, and that's it for now. More later.

Day 4. Wandered all over Boca Chica and soaked up the culture differences. In between walks I sat by the pool at El Candil with a Presidente and a book. At the hotel I saw some white chicks, Europeans I think, who had a big local dude in tow. I think they were on a sex vacation too, and why not. If its good for the gander it should be okay for the goose too. Some girl once told me that 'once you go black you never go back'. As it started to get dark I headed down to Duarte to see the sights. No problem from the staff. I like El Candil. Good value and chica friendly. Internet works in my room on ground level near the office.

In Puerto Plata airport I was friendly with one chica at alamo and I would give her small gifts, sometimes they gave me a free upgrade.

Avis tried to overcharge me twice, so I never use them.

Hertz appears to have mostly FIAT cars, so I don't know how they are.

I am driving around in a nissan tiida, good little car, I had reserved the cheaper chevrolet aveo and they gave me the nissan for the same price.

500 pesos moves the gas tank needle about 1/4 of a tank.
