Nevertheless, I would just inform you fellow mongers that Paris is well connected with Germany, and at reasonably accessible prices. There is a train that connect Paris to Koln in a little more time than 3 hours. As for me, I consider the option-Koln much better than the option-Bruxells. Just a personal opinion, of course.

Had a stop in Paris, did some sightseeing and had a walk around Pigalle. Darkness was coming, my walk happened around 9, 30-10pm.
