Thanks for the comments to my previous post. I have a lot to share, having been in LOS 30+ times in 25 years, but it would be just generic advice / tales more than real current info, having missed 2011 and 2012 so far. Hope to go there in 2013, but wait: in a recent post I read Rainbow 1 and 4 and Angelwitch asking for 4000 LT. Now, how's that? No financial crisis in LOS? Hyperinflation? Or they're just trying to screw newcomers? 4000 sounds ridiculous to me even as a bargaining starting point. Is LOS going downhill so fast as a mongering place? Or is police asking for more money from the bars? Or is just Nana going the same way as Patpong, I. E. Tourist scam? Please give me some opinion, I am stunned.
It is sad but true. Guys need to just stop paying the ridiculous fees and prices will drop. Some months ago, I met several Rainbow dancers eating food out on the street after work. Got to chatting with them, ended up going home and having a great night with them. At some point while we were out on the street, one of them says to me,"it must be great living here." I asked her why, and she said,"because you don't need to go to bars and pay fine, and can probably meet many ladies outside here and only pay 1000 or 1500 baht, right?" I looked at her and smiled. And yes, I gave each one exactly 1000 baht when they left my room some 6 hours later.

If you want cheaper prices then you have to take the freelancer route.
(snip) in a recent post I read Rainbow 1 and 4 and Angelwitch asking for 4000 LT. Now, how's that? No financial crisis in LOS? Hyperinflation? Or they're just trying to screw newcomers? (snip)
That is the price they show you on the menu-card. I think they have noticed the tendency of many (newbee) farang to accept everything as long as it is printed. I was in Angelwitch in December 2012 and for some reason they did not pull that trick on me.
I heard some bars tried to make you pay upfront for LT, arguing that some of their girls have been scammed by farang who refused to pay afterwards.
4000LT was the price in Rainbow4 since as early as 2006 in many cases. I'm surprised that some are still bringing this up as "expensive". Do you want it free or what?

Do you want it free or what?
For free? Did I say that, dear friend? What I said is that I was never, ever proposed 4k as a starting point nowhere in LOS. If that happened to you since 2006, I believe you and I am sorry for you, but for me is new and a rip-off. For LT I never went above 2. 5K for real stunners starting from maybe 3. 5 or 3. As you see I do not bargain that hard either. The real reason why I do not post much is that anything you say here, however innocent and in good faith, is modified or misunderstood and then thrown against you by someone who have too much free time and too little common sense.
Just like the other member that mentions 35. 000 baht as UK price: I do not understand how can you compare these two things. Dear fellow, next time you'll try to buy a home in UK for 400k GBP go say to the seller "Hey, but in Pattaya I can get the same flat for 30k GBP". Please record the reaction on camera and post it here, ok? That's entertainment!
Yeah, a lot of people are making fun of the 2000-4000 prices in the big bars, that "only newbies pay". I'm not seeing many reports of successful attempts below those prices in those bars, though.
thank you.
found the website amusing. do you know how long that place has been there (soi 7)?
[CodeWord901]'s on suk 8.

Low season is quite nice.
But the key point here is that you are not in the UK. Does not matter what you would pay anywhere else.
Yes, that is the standard reply I always get, what it boils down to is market forces, if girls can ask for 4000 baht and get it then what is the problem.
The solution to avoid high fees is stick to the poorer quality girls in Pattaya, plenty there for 1000 baht overnight.

You may get LT for 3000 baht at 2am but by the time you get back to the room it is going to be a short LT.

found the website amusing. do you know how long that place has been there (soi 7)?
it has been there for several months. it is affiliated with annie's. the place is nicer than [CodeWord901]'s, not that it matters. you saw the prices for bj. 700 and 1000. the place is worth checking out. i have had a several good experiences there.
