Dancer salary and waitress tips
My understanding and experience in AC is the dancers get a salary range from P150 to P200. Possibly high end Fields bar might go up to P250. I have not ever heard of P300 but it could be possible at a few places. The BG gets a commission of app. P50 on a single lady drink. P100 on a double LD. Same with the waitress if you buy her a drink.
Waitress salary is around P100 to P200 a day but certainly less than the dancer's salary. I don't think the waitress gets a commission when the customer or BG orders a drink. The waitress depends on tips as extra income.
The BG and waitress gets to keep their tips wheter you designate it personal or not. I don't believe the tips go into a general pool. But it would be best to hand the tip directly to the designated person.
OTOH, tips are pooled in restaurants and other drinking establishments. I was in Rob's bar located across the street from Penthouse Hotel and wanted to tip the female bartender. I asked her if her tips were pooled or not and she said they were pooled. I then asked the manger if I could declare the tip as a personal tip and he said yes. I believe it is good policy to declare a personal tip in front of the manager on duty to avoid any confusion.
Economic Theory Applied to Angeles City Bars
I've tested some common economic principles in the context of the AC bar scene. My results are below. As usual, I will add the catch all disclaimers: YMMV, this is purely my opinion, I am only a newbie with three visits to the Phils. Please feel free to add your own views and additional theories.
1. Law of Diminishing Marginal Returns: Yes, this is applicable. The biggest release and orgasm you get will be from fucking the first girl of the night. By the fourth girl on the same evening, your cock will be sore, you will be tired of pussy and the marginal sexual satisfaction you get will be much smaller. You will refuse an offer from the fifth girl that evening even if it is free and she is a 10.
2. Supply and Demand: No, not applicable. There are always way more girls in the bars than punters, but the bars don't drop their prices to match. FLs might be happy to reduce their rate if desperate. A writer on the BKK forum said some of the bars there raise their prices in the off-season to make up for lost revenue, making this theory rubbish.
3. Principal- Agent Problem: No, not applicable to AC as the girls don't up-sell their services. The BF is a fixed fee and the tip is not mandatory and "up to you". This theory is more applicable in an FKK where the girl is up-selling different services. You then ask yourself, is this Romanian girl offering me anal sex and CIM so that it can make me happier or is she offering these to make her Euro $100 richer? Hence the Principal Agent problem.
4. Classical Economics: Yes, partially applicable here. While officially there is no interference from the government, we all know that various government agencies have some influence in the AC bar scene. Now would prostitution work better in AC if there were no interference at all? I think may be the kick-backs keep the place in equilibrium. Look what happened to Iraq when Suddam Hussein was toppled?
5. Laissez-Faire: Yes, partially true. There is on the surface, no obvious government interference in what is fundamentally an illegal activity. No taxation of earnings, no subsidies and the transaction between the bar and the punter is easy. Everyone is relaxed about it.
6. Laffer Curve: Yes, completely applicable. Now the bar owner might think that if he can raise LDs to 1,000 PHP and BFs to 9,000 PHP, he will make a lot more money per transaction. But his overall revenue will drop as punters stay away from AC. Now if he were to reduce LDs to 50 PHP and BFs to 1,200 PHP, his ROI per girl would decline, but would his overall revenue and profit increase? Probably, as punters would flock to AC instead of going to LOS. This would be at the expense of the girls as their incomes would fall and they would leave the bar scene, leading to supply and demand issues all over again. Now I'the be happy to work with the bar owners and LE to do some financial modelling to determine the optimal pricing point! I can take payment in kind.
7. Speculative Bubble: Yes, applicable to AC. Just look at the number of new hotels in AC over the past few years, based on the speculation that more punters will arrive. Is it a bubble? Not sure. Not everyone is in AC to monger. I assume there is considerable business activity in Clark.
8. Tragedy of the Commons: Yes, applicable here. Look at the way the Koreans, acting independently, are driving up prices and girls' expectations, much to the destruction of everyone else. We take that the availability of girls is a common resource, yet one particular group is upsetting the situation.
9. Rational Choice Theory: Yes, applicable here. Each punter is trying to make an individual decision when selecting a girl from the immense LU, without any interference. Every Western punter wants GFE, PSE, BBBJCIM, DFK and two pops for 3,000 PHP. Koreans want 3 minutes, with their 3-inch dicks and will pay 3,000 PHP for 1 pop in the missionary position. Their choices are rational and are not impulsive. Each knows what he wants. This in turn affects the behaviour of the girls and you all know where their preferences lie!
10. What Goes Around Comes Around: Not really an economic theory, but assumes that if you treat an AC girl nicely and respectfully, she will give you a mind blowing performance.
