Thanks[/QUOTE]I stayed there recently for 5 days. It is a bit out of the way, which was good for me in a funny sort of way. You either have a 5 minute walk or a short moto ride to the nearest action.

It wasn't the best hotel I have ever stayed in, and it was a little run down, but perfectly pleasant.

Never went in the pool, but sat around it a couple of times. More a family / old couple type hotel. No issues with cleanliness, but towels were a bit threadbare, and air-con a bit 'creaky'. There is an Irish bar associated, but plenty of local food vendors around, including a couple of Thai-oriented open air restaurant / stage-shows nearby.

I didn't go back there on my next visit, but did consider it.

usually its one person - they can and do get stopped for more than one passenger. the other thing is that khun mai ben khon thai (you not thai person). locals might get a price break like you sort of did. I never ride with someone else - at 125 kilo it's difficult even tho I'm 1.85m tall

I just made a refundable booking at the Mercure: 1. 825 baht per night for the superior (basic) room.

I previously e-mailed the hotel asking about their guest policy, and the following was the satisfactory answer I got:

I stayed at the Baywalk Residence a couple of weeks ago. I booked a mini suite through Agoda. It was very expensive for what I got...IMHO. The room was decent sized, however housekeeping was severely lacking. The wi-fi is terrible, it did not work in my room, I had to go sit in the courtyard. They give you an ethernet cable as well so you can use the wired Internet, but that did not work either. The hotel is very close to Walking Street, which is why I booked it but you might be better off staying farther away from Walking Street, I usually stay near Soi Bukhao and get a much better rate. I really would not recommend it for the prices they charge.

The breakfast is also good and cheap, and if like me you are meant to be at work, then it makes an excellent base for a day's work for the cost of a few coffees, cokes and a pad thai.

I agree. Also if you go into any guesthouse/bar on LK Metro to drink or eat and hang out they should give you the wifi password. Metro Apartments is air conditioned.

Has anyone stayed at Siam View Residence? Its supposed to be located on Soi AR. Where ever that is. My girl wanted me to stay there next time I was in Pattaya.

If you've stayed there any information regarding this place is appreciated.

I just book a standard double at the Flipperlodge for 825 bht a night no breakfast discount rate for 4 nights for aug, this is the lowest rate in 8 yr for them it is very slow right now and they have a promotion stay 7 nights and pay only 5 nights.

Hey guys,

Scuse the noob questions, but it's my first time to Pats and I just wanted to make sure I understood everything before I made a reservation. Will be staying for 2 weeks, so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Looking for a cheap 3 star hotel, nothing fancy. Don't really need TV, but wi-fi would be a huge bonus. Might have a look at the BeerGarden.

Anyways, I'm not sure what it means when they ask you how many people you want to book. 1 or 2? Does 2 mean they have separate beds? Or does 1 mean that it's a single bed? I'm a bit confused. Just tell me which one I should be choosing. Another thing, is it normal for them to charge extra every time a bring a girl in, or is it related to how many beds I've booked (just say 1 bed booked I need to pay extra or 2 beds booked and the fee is waived)?

Also, is it a good idea to book in advance? I'm assuming it is. Will be staying for two weeks through Nov.

depends on your definition of "cheap". for maybe 800-900/night try eastiny or flipper. sunshine. it's low season... and it's going to be "wet" eventually

double means you booked for "2 people". maybe 1 bed, maybe 2 depends on hotel. Internet is actually pretty cheap on Soi Buakhao

Late OCT and early NOV is right at the end of the rainy season (usually)

What is the best and most GF 5* Hotel in Pattaya? How far are the 5* resorts from night action? Is there a transport problem, especially at night?

Mermaid Beach Resort. Great just walking acroos the road to the beach. But not so good as I really wanted to be in the Pattaya Walking Street Area.

Secrets Hotel. Really great for the Walking Street. Almost in it.

Woodlands Resort. Kinda got fed up with the Walking Street and more into Soi 2. So tried this place last time.

Who knows where I will stay next time? Tiger any ideas for me? Where do you like to stay?
