Not been to Simmers but as it's almost entirely outdoors I can't imagine smoking is much of an issue, maybe someone else on here can confirm that. K1 in Westlands was no problem at all for smoking (it is a place half indoors / half outdoors) , another bar I went to in the CBD up some stairs off Moi Avenue had a strange (and tiny) smoking booth despite the fact the bar was an open air one on the roof of the building. Just find the places that are happy for smokers by asking them to be honest, they'll soon tell you one way of the other.

For a start Westlands, Galleria, Junction, Sarit, you name it, Nairobi is full of Shopping Malls (I think more than any other city in Africa north of South Africa) and they're great bets.
