Great stories! I am sure many of us have many more. Here is just one more from me: I too had one turn up with her whole family (Ibu, anak2) when I met her in PS. Yes, I found that out the hard way (7 days is really 6). Was late for a flight while the immigration guy gave me a hard time, asking for $20 US. Luckily for me, I had a single 20 left in my pocket to give up and get going.

i found the place without difficulty thanks to the reports by fellow mongerers on this place here, on this thread. compared to the alexis, the place seemed quite functional, especially the changing-locker room, and on a larger (and less intimate) scale.changing below i walked up to the first floor( for some reason the lift can't take you up) and entered the cafetaria. the place was quite cheerful though not as friendly and warm as the smaller alexis bar.the girls were seated around 4-6 tables- right in front were the indos and on the left hand side which seemed to be occupied by the 'imports', the prcs and the fake 'ruskis'.

as far as comparing the malioboro and the alexis is concerned, although the alexis has better ambience, the malioboro is much more accessible being on the direct trans-jakarta bus route. moreover, the total cost came to rp 450 k which included 100 k tip for the good performance compared to rp. 900 k at the alexis (incl. 100k tip). although there were also 800k indos around (i didn't check which) 350 k including room is a very good deal especially if you compare it to the rates sentral in pasar mayestik and mariba( which i haven't used although i've seen the cubicles) both of which have very crummy rooms. the malioboro rooms are clean with the usual platform bed but with fairly firm mattresses ( an important point when it comes to mongering). but they have only a shower and no toilet which is there in the alexis rooms along with proper beds. i thought of trying out the vip rooms at the malioboro but learnt that they were the same as the standard rooms with the same platform bed except that they had a toilet, so it didn't seem worth it. last point- the kimono/robe at malioboro has no pockets in which to keep things that you would like to carry with you such as your own condoms or cream! lol!

all in all a good expeereince and a place to be recommended as real value for money. btw i went early as i, too like might spearman, prefer it when the girls are fresh. as i was leaving i found hordes of young indo men entering, probably after their offices had closed for the day, for their recreation. so going early is a good decision for you get them rested and fresh even though they choice may not be so wide.

Perhaps it was just my impression but prices in Jakarta appeared to have risen since Ramadan. As already noted by others, the Malawi 6th floor place is now 400, 000 for the hour (plus 20k for a soda! ) and I found a certain resistance to 300, 000 for short time at the bars near Blok M. One girl from Longun kept asking for more (after the deed) even though I paid her 300, 000 plus 50, 000 taxi fee (I was staying near Stadium) but I refused. Was that too mean? Bebek, the great thing I find about these upmarket places is that you don't have to carry cash with you and worry about it. You just sign the slip and pay at the front desk like checking out in a hotel. Someone else has already pointed this out.

Dear friend.

U can at Malioboro, goes straight to the coffee shop to eat and pick your girl without changing to the robe thought u still pay for the facilities fee.

Pick your girl at the coffee shop, bring straight to room, shower together, finish yr job take the money from yr wallet. Tips them and put back your shirt and pant before going downstair to pay the total damage.
