It was (at least I think) a genuine Bluebird kiosk and they told me it was a fixed rate I specified earlier. I eventually chose the Gojek at 260, which also is not cheap relative to your example.

I've been reading several posts here that describe experiences very different than my own (and of several buddies who I met up with). I think it comes down to this. If you are American and want a Western mongering experience like the kind you get in Thailand or Philippines you will be disappointed. Money exchange - Many available in the city.1$ was 153000.A$50 got me 1000 less surprisingly.So, carry 100 bills.

Transportation.

You will find many private and app based taxis like grab, bluebird etc. I didn't had internet, so I used private taxi when I arrived. Cost was 250 K to Santika Premier Hotel near holiday Inn. My return taxi on grab costed 150 k for comparison. Download grab app which is very reliable and can be used for taxi, food ordering etc. You can pay by cash after each ride. I also used grab and gojek motorbike by directly talking to rider from clasic and travel back to hotel. They are available outside the gate usually or ask security to help stop one. Taxi were expensive to 4 times when I checked.

Where to stay.

I stayed at Santika premiere which was an excellent 4 star hotel. 5 minutes to travel and 8 mins to classic. Bes was great. Room service was excellent too. Breakfast was great with a seperate section for Indonesian cusine. Staff were very very helpful in all aspects. There is a restaurant at lobby level and also at 22nd floor. Sky loungue was not great and I did not find any freelancers here as mentioned by someone. Room was huge but there was no jacuzzi if you are looking for one. This property is totally green for girl guests. I had booked for two people. I had multiple girls visiting my room on same day and two guests visited together. I had a guest at 2 am also. No questions asked. Lift need access control but reception was kind enough to guide the guests after you call them and Inorm.

Generic Observations.
