To me Medellin doesn't have much to offer visually. When I'm there I play tennis and golf at a country club (I'm not going to divulge the name for fear of locos arriving) and I meet girls on Facebook that are non-pros before I leave. I speak good Spanish and I enjoy speaking to everyone I come into contact with. Personally I can do everything I need to do in 4 or 5 nights. I have stayed longer but I start missing my life and get tired of Spanish in less than a week. You could always book longer and just pay a change ticket fee and leave earlier. I do this about 70% of the time. Sometimes I just wake up and decide I have done everything I needed to on a trip and I get on the phone and change my ticket. The only place I extended my stay was in Cuba because to me it was a very relaxing place with little traffic. Medellin isn't bad but I like Bogota better. I stayed in Greg's mansion when it was a penthouse and I stayed with another guy named John many times. I have also been to the mansion a few times for a few nights but I prefer a really nice hotel instead. San Fernando plaza is good because of the rooftop heated pool and location.

Ask urself. Are you a bottom feeder? Do you like the super dirty scene of 3rd world country strip clubs. If not, then there are only a few high strip clubs that you will get bored with very quickly if you stay 10 days.

I would never stay at the mansion. Why, because I speak spanish and I'm a grown ass man that doesn't like being feed chicas. Grow some balls guys! I stay at cheap hotels close to el centro.

If you do stay for 10 days go to Cali and Bogota, or the small town like Periera and Manizales. Plane tickets are cheap. Colombia has a lot of cultural and touristy stuff, but if your on this forum for dirt then you are not going to have time. Resting between nuts. You must bust at least 5 nuts per day.

Different strokes for different folks.

I'm staying in Medellin for a while and not in a rush, so I'm not extremely active on the scene, and I have some regulars that I've met outside of the casas. But I thought I would leave a few casa reviews before I forget. I speak Spanish okay.

A note for new visitors, I have not had any trouble finding these places using the addresses provided on the list / map. Just make sure to have the exact address because casas are not typically marked, though sometimes a tout might be handing out flyers in the street nearby. Usually there will be a metal door beneath the address and you just walk in, then pass through another door or two, maybe ringing a doorbell along the way.

Taxis: no problems so far. They will probably ask you to repeat the address a few times during the drive and they'll often ask other drivers and people on the street for directions, even though it might seem sequential calles / carreras would be easy to navigate. I know about how much rides should cost and I haven't been taken on the scenic route or had problems getting change etc. Some drivers won't want to go where you're going, which could be entering Centro, leaving Centro etc. , but I haven't had to ask more than two taxistas for a ride.

I have walked from Laureles to Centro and back during the day and haven't felt endangered at all. If you're going to Centro in daylight and get within 5-10 blocks of your destination, you might want to just get out and walk, because the traffic can be awful and there's plenty to look at.

I noticed the Uber discussion here, and I think it's worth considering for the reasons given. For the budget-minded, there are promos available specifically for Colombia when you sign up. You can find them online or get one from someone else who has joined.

New Life.

I went to the old standby at around noon, mid-week. They showed me maybe 15 chicas, nothing special. There was a cute brunette and a black girl I liked, but I ended up picking a girl named Sara because she had nice legs (1 HR, 70 K, pay when you're done). She was fair-skinned, plain-faced, tall, said she was 21, but looked more mid-20's. Her waist was a bit wider than I realized, though her legs and ass were solid. Like Dcfan I think I also may have used the phrase 'bottom-feeder' though I believe less judgementally. I like all the variations personally, highest to lowest, and although I generally don't like to be 'hand-fed,' the Mansion, for instance, is a separate experience and worth checking out. A bit like backpacking through the world and then including the 'luxury cruise' for a couple of days and nights just to see what it is like. In the case of the Mansion, while it might in a way be 'the world according to Boyd', it is also an achievement as far as venues go. The girls are reasonable to very good quality, they are all 'invited' (which makes it different to places that don't show much discrimination in what is on offer), the music is mostly good, you don't have to traipse from the dancefloor across town to find a chica-friendly hotel, and you get your breakfast made personally for you at any hour of the morning, before lying by the nice pool with attractive scenery stretched out nearby. The hospitality is outstanding, more like staying with a family.

Now while I spent quite a bit of time "finding my own", and will continue to do so, I am not going to knock Mansion. It offers a service.

So, its my first time to Medellin, my Spanish is very poor and even though I'm adventurous I decided to play it safe and spend the first four nights at the Mansion and the last two at Jakes. I figured for my first trip this was the best way to get my orientation. Who knows, on my next trip I'll find a apartment in El Centro.

I don't consider myself a bottom feeder and I'm looking forward to the experience.
