No doubt one's memory can play tricks as it fades over 20 years and likely one recalls the better looking girls. But I certainly don't remember going into go-gos back then as I do now and being recoiled by some of the overweight girls I see on stage. Even the supposed best go-gos like the Rainbow bars have a fair share of real plug uglies. I don't get the owner's thinking on this, is it just a game of numbers? I'd rather go into a bar with all quality girls even if fewer in numbers. Seeing some of these girls just make me turn around and leave. And I've noticed that many of the go-gos seem to have segmented the girls by looks so that they have the A team, B team and perhaps C Team. And if you get stuck having to look at the C team for 10 minutes every ounce of your sex drive that you may have come in with has been viscerated like a dead sliced fish.

There weren't wall to wall stunners 20 years ago, but coming from my home country where girls were not very impressive and my expectations not high, Thai girls could look real cute easily. After seeing Scandinavian gils, French girls, etc, I view Thai girls with a different more critical eye now.

The very pretty girls usually get yanked out of the bar before too long, even if their character has been spoiled somewhat. "You can take the girl out of the bar, but it's difficult to take the bar out of the girl". Bargirls are can be okay as casual part time GFs, but many don't know how to behave as though they didn't come from the bar, acting a bit too wayward. MP girls seem to have a higher standard of behaviour once they are outside the work-place, and better GF prospects generally.

I remember thinking back then how come the bars the ugly ones too. Simple answer. To make up the numbers and pressure in order to keep the good lookers, they needed to take their ordinary friends too. Some bars had special standards though, like no real fatties, no silicone tits, etc.

Beauty is a commodity, and an ultra hot girl today no matter where she lives on the planet generally (excepting some extreme locales) knows her commodity value. Now she may be deferring that value, but she usually understands it. I haven't been to Rangoon in Myamar, but that's an impoverished country but noted for very beautiful women of hybrid asian and european backgrounds, controlled by a military elite, yet the traveling club to club nightclub "fashion shows" (due to various restrictions forced to act as lineups for pros) you will note the girls there, based upon you tube postings at least, tend to be somewhat average. Now you would think it might be like Thailand 20 years back, but globalization has changed that, even though most are restricted to not traveling.

You were always spoilt for choice. Yes, there were ugly ones too, perhaps 2-3 per bar? I guess it's the opposite now.

In Suzie Wong (halfway on the right hand side when coming from Asoke) I once licked (briefly) a dancer's pussy on stage, but that was already exceptional. Last I was in Suzie Wong they started to have some "pussy" shows but still pretty tame: puling strings of flowers or ribbons from their pussies, nothing more wild. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For example, most of the pics in the photo thread, even those that claim to be attractive, hot or stunners, I wouldn't go with if they paid me.

That being said, however, I haven't seen a decline in quality in the Nana Car Park since 2007. The price is generally the same, namely 1000 Baht ST. The looks are still there. The service is, if anything, better. Overall my experience certainly is. Last year I was amazed at the bodies of some of those I picked up. This year I haven't got out a lot, as I have my regulars I call but, from my observations, the numbers seem to be down for the evening workers, but up for the daytime. Some girls are also working the street nearby. Or indoors at bars & places like the Beergarden on soi 7. These changes are, I think, at least in part to avoid the LE raids to fine them (pocket) 1000 baht a head. As usual there is always the fresh meat; the new kids in town, from Bumfuck Isaarn. Last year, before the floods, when I paid a couple visits to Rainbow 4 in NEP, the lineup on the streets was better IMO. Also, of course, much cheaper, & probably better service & attitude as well.
