I spontaneously stopped in at the InandOut last night and had quite the most wonderful service ever with a university student called Mini. Sweet, kind, new (lousy massage), pretty, petite and very, genuinely affectionate. Recommend her highly, please be gentle with her and give her a nice tip.

I thought about adding the Hyu-Ge Tel (coinage of Rest and Hotel) story to the forum, but decided not to, mainly because they only provide HJ. On rare occasion, there are reports of DATY and finger-sticking, but the "NO FS" rule seems rigid everywhere.

Try to find the Main office of ChoHeun Bank at GwangGyo, cross the road toward Chongro-side, make a right turn, pass a really small alley, pass few buildings, then you will meet the small street on your left. The Shake is on the thrid floor of 3rd(4th?) building on your left. Not sure whether they have an English sign or not, but I remember they sign board was reddish pink.

When you step up the funny looking-round stairs to the 3rd floor, the door is on your leftside, and the price was 70,000 won. They have small shower rooms, my provider was friendly, Oh, unlike other places, Shake provides "body-licking" service. The House rule was No Kissing, No Touching on the bottom half, not to mention NO BJ/FS.

Am I going to recommend Shake?
No. I am still more geared into FS MP.

Are the girls at In & Out still angling to squeeze an extra session out of customers?

Mickey, I wondered why you suggested leaving a big tip for the girl at In & Out? She's making half of the service fee as it is. If you give her, say. 20-30 000 Won as a tip, firstly you are increasing her wage by two-thirds to 100% (am I crazy, or does this seem exhorbitant to anyone?) and secondly, you build in her the expectation of a similar gratuity every time you visit. Then, it will spread to others.

What happens, the day you are passing (just before payday) and you are down to your last 60 000 Won? You have enough for a service but not for a tip. If you go in and tell her, sorry I can't tip, will the service you receive be as good as on previous trips? If you DON'T tell her beforehand, will she be upset AFTER the service and, if so, will she expect a double tip next time (totally insane) or will you get a worse service, next time?

She gets paid enough as it is, without you making it into a goldmine for her. Let's say she can see 5 customers in a 10 hour shift. That's around 150,000 per day. Most of them work 7 days a week. Say, it's only 6. At that rate, she's getting from 3.6 to 4.0 million BEFORE TIPS!

I don't know your job. Average job in Korea is a teacher on 2.0 million. Look what you have to do and the shit you have to put with from your boss to get your money. She's doubled your pay and you want to reward her some more.

On 2.0 million, 60,000 for 45 minutes PLUS 30,000 Won tip represents more than a day's pay! She stands to make 150,000 PLUS tips and still only works less than five of her ten hours. The rest of the time is for eating, shitting, watching TV, reading, sleeping, etc.

I have a very good salary and could afford tipping, but I care enough about money and about the rest of my fellow mongers, NOT to drive up expectation and drive down service for the rest of you guys.

you made some good points, (but i respectfully disagree with you on the payment issue, if someone can get rich off being a hooker, i applaud them) but at the end of the day unless you have a union monitoring the fees mongers pay, payment and tips (and even service provided) will always be arbitrary for a variety of reasons. prostituting is a hazardous profession, people in hazardous profession should be paid more. let's face it hookers provide a service to most clients that they (the clients) couldn't receive elsewhere (home), and the service hookers provide is for the most part (subjective) degrading and potentially dangerous to them, albeit therapeutic and enjoyable to their clients.

hookers face danger with every client they service and face it in many different ways, i.e. disease, bodily injury, robbery and in some cases, even death. a teacher or someone in a main stream profession face less of a risk (certainly not the risk associated with prostitution). i mean unless you're a teacher in the bronx ny or some high charged area, most schools are relatively safer environments than the one hookers operate in. i am willing to bet that most employers are not telling their employees to get nude, spread their legs and prepare for probing) so i have no problem with hookers making more than me, they deserve it for what they do (and i mean the ones who provide quality service). i know we are in korea and it's relatively safe here, but the potential for hazards still exist. i agree with you that we shouldn't inflate prices, but don't know how you keep prices in lock-step.

the issue of tips is obviously subjective and mini must have done something out of the ordinary for mickey to be so contented and tip her so well, because he said the massage was lousy, so obviously she pleased him well in some other way. i was just curious as to why he was so pleased, because as i said she serviced me earlier in the week and although i enjoyed it, i didn't come away from the session with the same contentment mickey did.

the entire atmosphere was great and i didn't feel obligated to provided any extra funds to her, but i did give her my usual w20,000.00 tip.

btw, i know you don't need it, but if you ever find yourself down to your last w60,000.00 at in and out and need a tip, let me know and i will bring it to you :)

I find leaving a good tip pays off huge dividends, u will get much better service in return visits and I have on occasion gotten a full day of free GFE when they take a break from working --they all usually end up taking time off at some point. Treat these girls well, Korean girls have it hard enough, and they usually really respond to someone that is gentle and kind to them.

I have been in Korea for over three years now, I've been to 588 and Miari (one of the weirdest places I have ever been) althought not recently. Does anybody else like going to Hong Day? I know it's just a regular bar area, but over the years I have found it to be a great place to meet KGirls --mostly students. I don't consider myself that good looking, but have pulled home a hottie a least once every 4 or 5 times out.

I've also at 3am gone to a yogwan (korean Inn) and asked the front desk to send up a girl (Yo-Ja ka-juseo). It's really a hit and miss with what you get, but overall I've had several really good experiences with girls. Cost is usually around 70,000 Won plus the 30,000 Won for the room. I have tended to avoid Iteawon, however there are a few bars that I like. Limelight can be good hunting ground.

Would be happy to relate some more stories over the last few years of living in Korea, which can be a very hard place to live, but the girls are just always worth it! I think probably the best in Asia.

Does it pay to tip? I think you set yourself up as a "nicer" wae-guk for doing it, and I think the girls truly are surprised. Does it get you better service? Yes, if you see the same girl again. Do they come to expect it? Only if they are the greedy types. You've seen them before. They are the ones who ask for a type before you even get your pants off. Best to avoid them. Don't think they understand the concept of tipping. Don't expect better service.

I never heard of the term Hyu-Ge Tel before. Next time I'll scan signs for these words. In the past I've always been afraid that these types of massage places were legit, and I'd get a great massage but by an ajuma.

Typically I would say these aren't my type of places (R&T) since I prefer BBS Anma=Massage+Shower+FS in basement vaults. These Hyu-Ge Tels remind me of Toronto "body slide" massage places where married men (or guys with GFs) can go for some relaxation and still avoid the guilt of FS. RM, the girls that work in places like In & Out and the other places that Ho Man and others described, are almost certainly in the safest envronments of all, in this business. Most places, they don't even get nude, let alone risk diseases (probably the worst they would risk would be a bad cold from a client suffering similarly). They never have to go anywhere to meet clients. Clients come to THEM. There is always male supervision onsite, in the event of things going south. Many places even have hidden "panic buttons". The biggest risk is carpal tunnel syndrome from too much "handplay".

I agree that certain redlight activity and areas cary risks - but my comment on tipping was specifically directed to the types of "hyu-ge-tel" places - which are almost "straight" when compared to even the hooker (juicy) bars on the Hill and elsewhere.

I have tipped, elsewhere - but proportionately and for EXCELLENT service. The pay some of these girls receive for "moderate" service is plenty enough.

In my case, if i provide only moderate service, not only would I not get a tip, but people could die. I have to be at the top of my game every time I go up. Wouldn't it be good if SW could be great every time they go DOWN?

Do you speak any Korean? If not, then you can try just about any bar in Itaewon. You need to dress well but not over the top. Wear a nice pair of slacks, shirt and shoes. Arrive early ~9-10pm on a week day, or late after the 1pm curfew for the military (is this still in effect?). The usual hunting rules apply.

A number of people have said the Limelight is a good place to hook-up. I've never been since I prefer more of a bar like environment where you can talk.

If you're in your 20's or early 30's you could also try Hong Dae, there are a number of night clubs there that are frequented by students. Korean helps here, but if you're decent looking you may do OK.
