I guess I missed the messages of Cotton Club closing and I just wanted to make sure that what they told me at EDSA was true (last time I was in Manila, I didn't get a chance to go to EDSA).

There aren't any "famous doctors" in Philippines, as in Nobel prizes or specialists who have people from all over the world flocking to Manila for their services. The really competent ones migrate to the lands of milk and honey for their post-graduate successes.

I guess she means he is well-known or popular or something. Just another not-so-subtle way to boost her own importance.

So I was going to go to the Cotton Club, but found out it was closed. The people at the entrance pushed me into the Samba Club, but eventually I peeked in to all the clubs on the first floor. It seemed to be a quiet night at almost 11 and most of the bars had very bored-looking girls on stage. Several of the bars had girls in bikinis, Samba was most unique with long gowns.

I finally settled on a bar with the girls in bikinis, Bullets and Arrows, so I could see what I was getting. Though in retrospect, maybe the girls in Samba looked a little prettier. It was hard to tell and everyone was clustering around the few customers that would come in from time to time. I picked a very cute young girl, I think Marika. My drink was around 190 and the girl's drink was 380. The long and short of it was bar fine 2500 and ST was 3000 and LT was 5000.

Since I had to work early the next morning, I just wanted to get everything over with, I paid the manager 6000 for everything and went to my hotel. The girl was perfectly ok, nothing so write home about, but I just needed a quickie to help me go to sleep.

And I had several more days for exploring.

Went to Cafe Havana on Friday night with my wingman, but because he got in so late, it was past 11. All the good talent was gone, or things have changed since the last time I was there. The prettiest girl there was one of the hostesses and of course there was little chance we were going to be successful with her and in any case, there was only one of her. So we decided to just go to a legit club and went to the Palace complex, specifically XYLO. This is a high end dance club and really on par with top clubs all over the world. The complex is really 5 separate clubs joined in the middle with an open area swimming pool, food stall, bar area. Similar to Las Vegas swimming pool scene. Lots of beautiful girls everywhere, but almost all 'civilians'. We had a lot of fun with some girls, but didn't try to push things and definitely didn't want to insult anyone by offering money, so we just left with phone numbers.

I was in Manila in February of this year. I also went into the SAMBA on the first floor. Saw girls standing on the stairwell to the upstairs club, can't remember the name of it. I reluctantly climbed the stairs, found a huge layout with billiard tables in the back. Plenty of room. Then, there was the old mamasan from COTTON CLUB. She recognized me right away and said "Cotton Club open maybe in June or November downstairs where Samba is now. " When I go back to MNL this August, will update if nobody has finalized the location of CClub.

What sort of an answer is "maybe in June or November"?

As someone else pointed out, how can you renovate a space that already has a bar (Samba) operating?

[/QUOTE]EDSA and Burgos St bars are different than AC in that you only pay the bar the bar fine (php2500). You pay the remainder to the girl, preferably after the act. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, but some girls may pull a runner if they have already been payed.
