I was in London in December and visited this house, near Euston Station. There were 4 girls. I have one question concerning visa to the UK, hopefully someone on this board are more familiar with UK law than I am. (I am Swedish)

After an incredibly low success-rate in Warsaw last summer (my “horror” report is from 07-29-07, read it and you will understand my disappointment...), I have instead travelled to London many times the last few months. Although prices there are (much) higher, so is the quality!

Last year I met a woman (working girl) from Russia in London, a woman that I have become fond of even if I am aware that we have only met for business. She is nice, and we have become quite friendly. The problem is that she arrived in London without a passport. Or rather, without a genuine passsport. She had managed to get a fake one (with visa) in Russia to get her in to the UK, and it was ridiculously expensive (several thousand pounds!) Now she wants to go back home, for family reasons, but the bastards who “helped” her get the fake passport took it away when she arrived in London, telling her that she only paid for a one-way trip. Naturally she would prefer to get home without letting these idiots grab more of her money, so what can she do? It is too late to apply for a real visa (because she has to be back in Russia to do that), and she can’t leave the country without a passport.

So my question is this: Does anybody know what will happen if she goes to her embassy here and explains the situation. Are they able to help, or will she be turned over to the UK immigration police? And what happens if she is turned over to the police? I have seen on the ukvisas.gov.uk-website that people who have travelled to the UK with false documents have “committed an offence”, and “face up to two years in prison or a fine (or both)”. Is there a standard here, a typical reaction? I mean, it is not as if she has done anything wrong while she was in London. So a prison sentence sounds way over the top, doesn’t it? A quick deportation, on her own expense, and some years without a chance for re-entry should be more suitable?

As you understand, she, and I, are quite unsure of the situation. We both would like for her to go back to her home and start a normal life as soon as possible.
I would really appreciate it if anyone have some input, advice, encouragement! There are probably other women in the same situation, from different countries, so the question may be interesting for more than us. If this forum is not the right place for this, I would be grateful if anyone has pointers to forums that are more appropriate.

Nothing will happen. If she got into the UK on a false passport and it is still valid i.e. in dat, then she will get out of UK too.

If she does not have a passport, go to the embassy and tell them she was smuggle into the country against her will...blah, blah, blah...you not what I am getting at.

Finally, be careful. EE women are very good at taking good men for a ride. I know...it has happened to me. They think nothing about selling their bodies to get what they want. The poverty story does not wash anymore. If a girl wants, she can use her brain!!! But then, I am a bitter twisted old bastard for being duped...so what do I know! :O)

That was what I was hoping too. That if she tells the embassy (and later, the UK immigration police) that she was "smuggled" into the country, they would be more interested in getting her out of the country, than punishing her in London.

Of course, if this leads to a whole investigation-thing, where she has to name the people who got her into the country, it might be problems. I would assume that ratting out these assholes could lead to unfortunate repercussions when she gets back home.

As he said they took the fake passport when she arrived. So the only options would be to continue to work to get the fake passport back or go turn herself in and tell what happened.

Not many would do that because most of these thugs have control over the girls to stop them doing that. Like threats against their families at home. Sticky situation, my advice would be to forget about her and let her sort herself out. You aren't going to be able to do much to help her and getting involved only puts you in danger as well.

Hi, don't usually follow this thread as I am a UK guy living in UAE (Hi Zing!) but just intrigued by this line. Having immersed myself in the Chinese community with LT girlfriend, knowing many men and ladies socially and experiencing maybe near 100 Chinese girls sexually my initial thoughts are you may be disappointed? :) From what I am told, and granted I may be wrong, but many guys from the far east are not that demanding or proficient sexually, physically penis size is 'comfortable' and are therefore considered quite easy business by the girls I know.

Rather than going to the police or the Russian embassy, your friend might be best to talk to a specialist agency who work with people in her sort of situation. From what I've read, the Poppy Project is pretty good:
