In spite of my age, this is the first vacation trip I have taken on my own, and I cannot tell you how liberating it is. All my previous travels have been with my family. Being an introvert in nature, I thought it would be difficult, but pretty well all the mongers, are friendly and appear to be approachable. Honestly, I did not come here to bond with my male compatriots. I don't think I have held a conversation with a guy (outside of the diving instructors) for longer than few minutes, and I have been here for five days. It is all about independence, confidence (don't even need much of that in here) and the chicas. This place is perfect for single travellers, (and South East Asia). As one of the posters said let the chicas do all the talking (or crotch grabbing and grinding). Hold on to your wallet, pick your girl, and do the nasty. No Spanish, social skills required. The chicas will do all the work for you. You are guaranteed to get as much pussy as you can handle.

I hear you about the limited breakfast hours. After a night of carousing at the bars and possibly After One and crashing at the break of dawn, you'd like to be able to get breakfast anytime you wake up like at Giotto's Lodge in Bangkok where the clientele could wake late in the afternoon and demand to be served their free specialty omelet breakfast with waffles.

The demographic has changed, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I take it for what it is. It is something that was predictable but not preventable. Compared to back then, the American tourists seem younger and more urban now.

You can still have a great time in Sosua but the vibe has definitely changed. I remember the music being more of a mix in spots like Clasicos (which eventually began to change) and it was a treat when we heard someone like The Game or Biggie thrown into the mix. I didn't mind this because I know Sosua is a tourist spot, but I also like hearing the local stuff, as I would in places like Trinidad, Puerto Rico or anywhere else.

Recently, I sat in Winners Circle and 99. 9% of the songs played where N this or N that or N ain't worried about nuthin. The place is definitely starting to feel more and more like Black Bike Week to me. The music in D'Latin had a bit more diversity but N this and N that was still what stuck out to me. I know I'm getting old because I didn't even hear of French Montana until I went to Sosua, LOL.

So the bottom line on NG is,"it is what it is." The people at the hotel realize Black Bike Week is in town just like the club owners do and the music has adjusted to the clientele. Everyone has made the adjustment. Now only you have to adjust.

Primarily Dominicans pop bottles of Brugal. You've seen the vids of the young urban American crews spilling Ciroc on naked girls in the pool at the villa? Yeah, Brugal isn't good enough anymore. Americans are expected to pop the Cognac, Ciroc, Moet, etc. Get with the program!

Question for you experienced Sosua mongers, are all the female bartenders in Sosua available for some fun? As in renting them for services.

I believe the ones that work at the bars on Pedro Clisante are but how about places like Bailey's for example? So far Sosua has been a lot of fun, it was close to dead today (Sunday) during the daytime as I tried looking for some action earlier in the day, but late afternoon and early evening the scene becomes more busy.

Your right, this was my first trip to DR and with experience comes knowledge.

I will not return to the New Garden again.

I hate that we are talking about this topic yet again, but I just had this conversation yesterday with a friend of mine. He made the comment that the powers that be, are upset about the "young black guys who are taking over Sosua". Can one of you guys explain this to me. What is the difference?

Its the same stupid bullshit I used to hear about Rio. Oddly, nobody said how Copa was being destroyed when the white guys used to drink beer, fuck garotas and listen to AC / DC all night in Club Help. But when black men bought bottles of champagne, fucked garotas and listened to hip hop, all of a sudden assholes came out of the woodwork to say how Copa is now ruined!

One last point, For all the dumb asses on the board. Help was closed because Rio got the World Cup and the Games, it had absolutely nothing to do with the color of the sex tourists that went to Help.

As long as you are not lumping all Black men into the same category I don't see anyone having any problems with men of color. The black mongers I know do not blast rap music from their hotel balconies at all hours of the night or dress like they are fresh off the set of a rap video. He spent time in a prison for doing the same shit in Rio and he hasntr learned a damn thing from the experience.
