Mentality isn't to my liking.

Ibis is cool-posto 5 one is better and newer. Rooms are IBIS-standard but fine for couple weeks. Anything longer and it gets claustrophobic! LOL.

Also get high floors like above 10th. Views are much better.

After midnight it is better to take the taxi or uber because the bus transport is not really safe, the bus transport is not good in Rio de Janeiro, they often come late they are never on time.

I prefer to use uber to Taxis, I don't recieve small useless change and don't break my notes. It is cheaper.

4 by4 is open from 1. 30 pm to 12 am, when 4 by4 is closed you can swift from the terma to whiskeria, the whiskeria is open till 3 AM. You don't need to pay the entrance again unlike Cancun. The move in whiskeria is as good as the terma from 11 PM. Early in the whiskeria, it is very slow so it better to be in the terma till 11 pm before going to whiskeria.

In whiskeria, there is a 10 per cent service fee when you consume or pick a girl from whiskeria, unlike 4 by4 terma, there is no service fee. Do like Brazilians if you are downstairs in the whiskeria, don't pay service fee, because paying service fee is not compulsory in Brazil. It is what I do, I never pay service fee when I am downstairs in the whiskeria.

If you stay in copa, taking the subway is easy and faster. I don't like to take taxi or uber in the day because there is stupid trafick jam and you never know. In rio de janeiro they often like to demonstrate and slow the cars down. Brazilians are lazy people that often complain. Living in Japan, there is a big difference between these two countries.

I am now in Sao Paulo, I can tell you the transport is better than Rio.

The dupla discount is to be found at VM occasionally but its mostly girls themselves who will try and initiate that.

The termas prefer every girl to go up so they get the room fee per girl. (Brazilian thinking (You can definetely bargain for a dupla in termas (my friend did at MC after he had one already week before).

Good luck. With economy down they probably will have to incentivize and initiate new baits so why not?

Be cheeky and offer 250 for an hour with 2 in 31. They might go for it.

AND, from 4 x4, go to Metrô Uruguaiana. It is only 5 minutes from 4 x4. Carioca station is a 10 minute walk from 4 x4.

In regards to safety, I find centro to be just as safe as most big cities in the USA. If Mrusa plans to use UBER, then don't worry, you are good to go. It's cheap and convenient. Order the UBER after your shower and wait outside.

Question how much cheaper is uber? Compared to a regular cab.

Can you catch a uber by the airport when I land?

My info is corect, the subway close at 12 , that means there are still metros running but the desks are closed and the door is closed at 12:00. 4 by4 is only 5 - 6 minutes from Carioca by foot. Centro is safe. Just avoid empty places. Around 10 pm, the streets start being empty.

It's a 5-6 minute walk from 4 x 4 to the Uruguaiana metro station. I did it plenty of times in the past 11 years. Here is an example from google maps. The carioca station is farther away from 4 x 4.

It's a longer walk from 4x4 to the Carioca stop. Don't believe me, do a search.

Plus, if a guy doesn't have a metro card paid in advance, then you risk missing the last train. That's why I said go earlier. Plus, if you wait to leave 4 x4 until 11.50, they might have the gate closed already.
I have been there before 12.00 in the past and there was no train coming. Rio is NOT the USA, Europe, or Japan where most trains run on time / schedule. They can and will close the gates when they want.
I prefer to be safe than sorry.

A quick search of google maps shows the details..[/QUOTE]I went to Rio many times, I often get off in Carioca to go to the termas, google is not always correct, carioca is only 5 minutes from the termas, why going to Uruguayan if carioca is also close to the terma, I don't need to have one more stop to go to Copacabana, yes I know but you can always book many train trips in advance so don't need to go to the desk and line up, if there re always train coming, because they have to terminate their path. From Carioca to leme by taxi is only 28. From Uruguayan is 32 reais. With uber 16 to 20 reais more or less.

Rio is not Tokyo, but the subway in Rio de Janeiro work very well. Other transports in Rio really suck, I often go to carioca around 11:55, and I take the subway and arrive in copacabana around 12:20. The trains continue working, because they have to finish their path, but the desks and the door are closed at 12. Yes like everywhere we have to go earlier, not only in Rio. I just said the subway closes at 12 so after midnight it is no use going to the metro. This problem is not only in Rio de Janeiro, Even in Tokyo if you don't go early you might miss the train because the line is fucking long in Tokyo.

Want to avoid any unnecessary risks.
