A bit of trivia: there are 18 million people who live in NRW, 6 million who in Hessen.

There is much more activity in NRW than in Hessen if even just from a population standpoint. Just visit the "Clubs to be added" thread of this section and do a count of clubs mentioned for NRW and for Hessen.

The Koelner are known for their hospitality and friendliness. I enjoy visiting there.

There is activity everywhere in Germany. The question is whether any of it is up to the standards set by the NRW and Hessen clubs and whether it is priced favorably.

As a rule, the south (Baden Wuerttemberg and Bayern) are "tote Hose", as the Germans would say - literally "dead pants". The Laender south of the Weisswurstaequater are more conservative.

To the north, Hamburg does not deserve its reputation.

Berlin isn't a bad city to visit, in fact it is my favorite city on the entire planet. It has a scene which includes street action, Sexkinos, clubs and as well Kultur, Berliner Schnauze and Berliner Luft. A kind of place you'd want to leave a Koffer behind at. The biggest secret of all: it is the cheapest major European capital city. London, Paris, etc.. are way overrated and overpriced.

I somehow have managed to go to Germany on 4-5 occasions without ever having been to Berlin.... i think it is on the list for 'next to visit'... however besides Artemis I haven't heard of much about how the scene is like. I also agree that price and quality are the 2 things I am looking for - I wonder if it matches up to the level of Palace/Oase in terms of quality and Samya in terms of price and service.

The only thing about goldentriangle is that I may be limited by public transport without a car. What is the nearest major airport to them, and will I need a car to get there (might be a problem since I normally use public transport)?

Put another way: if you are going to Germany for the purpose of visiting clubs, have your plane land in Hessen or NRW as these two Laender are where the best activity takes place. This where you will find the "destination clubs", the ones which people either fly or drive hundreds or thousands of kilometers to get to.

If you happen to find yourself south of the Weisswurstaequator, you will be able to indulge though you will not be at the epicenter of FKK clubdom. You should be ready to lower your expectations.

Are there any folks out there who go out of their way to go to Muenchen or Stuttgart to hobby? Please stand up and be counted.

Maybe "someone" should do visit these southern clubs and do a report. Just a suggestion. In fact, why not we ask the newbies to do it...

The only ones I read about regularly on the Roemer are Sylt in Nuermberg and Sudfass Oase in Pasing (in der Naehe von Muenchen).

For that matter, has anyone visited any clubs in the former DDR? I have read of clubs in Leipzig, for example. Any recent visitors to Osiland (as opposed to Oesiland which stands for Oesterreich or Austria - another reason to watch those umlauts!)?

Berlin has two clubs I am aware of: La Folie and Artemis. La Folie is a small club, Artemis one of those "shock and awe" clubs. If you read the Berlin thread you will find mention of bordellos, Sexkinos and the street scene too. There is also a swingers club there (forget its name).

Don't ask me why but I've always wanted to take the U-bahn to Krumme Lanke to see what was at the end of the line.

Read the Other FKK Club thread as there is an excellent report done recently by Toscana on Artemis and the Berlin scene.

If doing an NRW tour, Duesseldorf is the preferred airport. From there there are number of clubs which are reachable via public transportation - in fact, I've been able to do club tours without a car.

PHG in the Goldentriangle is reachable via bus from Krefeld, for example. Goldentime and Wildenrath are more difficult to get to.

Dolce Vita and Blue Note are okay but not the best that NRW has to offer. For the record, Samya is also an okay club.

Gotta second Jackyo on this one. I've been to both Stuttgart clubs and you really cannot compare them to the Frankfurt or NRW clubs. Haus is ok on a good day.

Cola holds its own well but you can have Sylt. Expensive price structure and there has not been a line-up there worthy or those prices in a long time.

Flamingo Island has its moments but they are mostly centered around the days that a hot, German girl named Jil is working.

Have not been to the "new" club in Villingen Schweningen yet but I use to go to Haus Cher on occasion. I hope that Pascha is a step up.

I am holding out hope for Aida and will pay it a visit soon.

Have not been to the Ulm club or the Pforzheim club. I hope that the Pforzheim Planet has more class than their website.

There is, sure enough sex to be found in BW but the club scene is way behind Frankfurt and NRW standards. Believe me, I wish it were not so.

...including Pasing, ColA, Pascha, Haus and Sylt and I have to agree with Jackyo and Dedalus. If you need to be there for other reasons, and therefore have to monger in the south, you can find a good experience at any of the clubs. Even though Munich is one of my favorite cities, for its parks, bars, beer, cars and culture it makes no sense to make a mongering trip to Bavaria.

The Hessen and NRW clubs are the place to be.
