Let me add one more point.
If you don't know where to go, then it is dangerous at night at centro.
Just have your bodyguard accompany you like always and you won't be so "susto" scared to walk around.
Parque Lleras. Freelancers.
Are these girls also there during the day and from when (early or late afternoon) ?
Very good post man. Perhaps you're right, I'm a fool and probably just looking for love in the wrong places. Can't help but see them as humans with feelings.
Maybe I'll go try one of those girls who have absolutely no interest in me. Like when they shake my hand they look like they're so miserable. Then I won't feel bad about anything.
99% of the guys on here are exactly like you and will fall for a puta at one point or another. Its an inevitability. Many guys claim they have not or will never. To me, Mongers fall into one of three categories:
1 Will fall for a puta.
2. Has fallen for a puta.
3. Has fallen for a puta, but is a lying piece of shit and won't admit it.

Hi All, Wanted to ask any Canadians specifically from the Toronto area what airlines they took to get to Medellin. I am in the process of getting a list together and just wanted to confirm that I did not miss any or if it is better to go via Buffalo. Thanks for any tips and info.

I'm from NewYork City so the games or hustle these chicas run on these mongers are elementary. Anybody with any kind of street smarts can see through these chicas game, Also when it comes to women in general from the USA to Columbia, If a women likes you, you don't have to give her any money to be with her. (I'm not taking about paying for sex) I'm taking about being in a so called relationship. If you have to spend money for a chica to like you and be around you, just accept the fact that the relationship is based on money. (Which is cool) but again when your going through hard times or get sick, these Chicas are no wear to be found.

Usually I pay about $150 cad rtn more than Tor-Bog folks pay to fly the Vancouver leg to Toronto, but for my next trip in 2 weeks I paid $150 cad less out of vanc rtn to bog than someone would pay for tor to bog, on an April advertised sale deal on AC's sale webpage, go figure eh?. They are paying me $150 for 9 hours flying time, YVR-Tor rnt Flying BOG to MDE go to their Colombia site , Avianca's, not the international one, I pay by canadian visa card in pesos at half the price or less than on the international site in dollars, go figure eh? My Sept. Trip was booking this past April. $850 cad Vanc-Tor-BOG return.
There's a ton of Chicas sitting all over the place in Botero Plaza on the benches, in front of the Museum, in front of the Church, by the public phones in front of the church. They are all street girls not working out of the bars and I have been quoted as low as 10,000 COP with the going rate at about 15,000 to 20,000 COP which I believe is the locals rate. Most are pretty raunchy but there are some exceptions. I went with one last night that quoted me 20,000 COP and she did such a good job I gave her 30,000 COP and she said I was very kind. To work the street girls you need to have your own room. I treat the girls well, sometimes I take them out for food, buy them drinks / snacks and get serviced well. I don't like the casa's as they are to controlled but I know some guys swear by them.
I have never seen any one snorting coke but there are lots of glue sniffers called sacaleros. The street alongside the Museum is what I call sacalero row as most of the girls are sniffing away and are as high as a kite. Need to be careful as the sacaleros can be agresivo if your an obvious gringo. I stay clear of them. There's also a collection from time to time of ladyboys that hang to the left of the Church in the afternoons and in the evening. I stay clear of them as well. I don't like the Avenida De La Grief bar scene as the girls are to hardcore.
The danger factor is totally a function of whether you look and / or dress like a foreigner or gringo.
I confirm all the above, a while back someone wrote on this site, wear short sleeve shirts not t-shirts. That's a good joke, how to spot a newbe gringo in el centro is that he is wearing a short sleeved plaid shirt, the real clueless ones will have shortpants, white runners with long soxes half way up to their knees. A few months ago I saw a 65+ gringo in sandals, short pants carrying a Colombia lonely planet guidebook in a de grieff area strip club.

Even more pathetic are the young hipsters. They think they are impressing the putas by the way they dress. If you are a younger guy and you are mongering, it means you are a total loser. Any guy under 40 who mongers is taking the easy way out. Aside from he occasional bachelor party, you young guys should be picking up women, not paying for them.
Look at COPA or Avianca.
You will fly Toronto- San Salvador- Medellin or Toronto. Bogota - Medellin.
Going through the USA Is torture. There are very long waits if you go through Miami but Toronto. NYC - Medellin is less painful.
For Canadians, you will be pulled aside, shown a sign and charged $180 k cop tax for being a Canadian. A tit for tat tax that Canada was charging to try to stem the flow of Colombian refugee claimants.
They mostly come out at night. Mostly.
Perhaps you could post a little bit more about your experiences in Parque Lleras. Just saying they come out at night tells us nothing as most hookers come out at night. I have been there on several days of the week and my experience is as follows; On Friday and Saturday nights if your an obvious gringo, or an older fart like myself you will be approached by women. Some pretty and dressed nice and some skanky ones. Keep in mind that this is the "Beverly Hills"of Medellin, with nice hotels, eating establishments, etc. I was quoted 200,000 COP by a girl who I wouldn't do and suspect the prices quoted might not be less than 200,000 COP for short time but I cannot verify this.
If you have some first hand experience relative to pricing please share with the community. I have an apartment two blocks from the park and won't waste my time there when I want something short time, I head to El Centro where I have a room as well.

I don't go around questioning why older guys are mongering and aren't in a committed relationship at their age. Bottom line is we all P4P because we enjoy it.

It's also easy to say that if you are older, you should be married and taking care of a family. I don't care what old people do as a hobby, single or married, and I don't care what a young person does.
Thanks
