Also, noob question. Besides the Jan 1 registration law that we all know about, is it true that for Frankfurt, there is now a new 2 euro daily tourism charge at hotels, in addition to the regular hotel rate.

I am staying at the same hotel in Frankfurt because they gave good service, had a good breakfast, and is very affordable given the previous points. I don't think they're cheating me as they gave me a proper invoice / receipt for this (and I just realized I could probably Google this to see if it's true), but was just wondering.
