Tips in Kind (instead of cash)
I think they probably ask foreigners because I didn't notice locals being asked while I checked out and waited for my Uber. It's annoying for sure but the women make up for but I was surprised one of the girls asked me for "caixinha", "gorjetas" (tips). Especially when I never approached her, tried to get away from her LOL. But it is what it is. I just politely tell them no or I'm not interested and they leave me alone for tips.
One time at Bomboa a chick asked me if I would buy her some ice cream. I agreed, and we sat there and had a nice conversation while she ate the ice cream and I enjoyed my drink. And that was the extent of it. Another time at Centaurus in Rio, a girl who I had just taken to the room asked me afterwards in the boate if I would buy her a sandwich. Although the session had been decent, I really wasn't into her. Didn't really care for her personality. So, my answer was "no". Buy your own damn sandwich with the money I just paid you!
Sao Paulo Hotels and Bring Girls
Many have asked or made comments on whether a certain place is "girl friendly". Maybe I can offer information to help. What I have found is that almost all places will easily allow you to bring a girl or have one visit you. The gotcha can be that they may want to get her ID and show her as registered. If you book the room for 2 and pay for 2 they just accept it. Being a cad like myself I may want two different ones in the same day. That may or may not be problematic. In one hotel after the first one was registered they did not even look at who was walking in holding my hand and the next one and I just waltzed to the elevator and up to my room.
In my 4 trips this year, one hotel complained that the girls had not been registered when I took them to the breakfast buffet. One the girl offered her ID before I knew what she was doing and there was no issue. And the rest have not been any problem.
Hope this helps alleviate some concerns.
