Excellent point sir. I have noticed that SD tends to be the cheapest to fly into, I wish I would have taken that option since it would have been nice to explore the capital even for just a few hours. But I think my lack of Spanish skills wouldn't have helped very much, but I think in time one learns and these days with translating tools on the iPhone it is not that difficult to get around with basic sentences. I usually don't start my action until the afternoon after 3 PM anyways, so a nice quiet bus ride in the AM might just be the way to go next time.

How do you find Santiago vs. Sosua? I'm unfamiliar with Santiago and just barely scratching the surface with Sosua. I can imagine Santiago having more chicas since it's the second largest city but it must be more a little more difficult to reel them in as opposed to Sosua, unless I'm completely wrong there.
On the way back to STI from Sosua, I had Rick help out with the transportation and had a drive that took the Mountainous route at night. However, this guy was great and the ride was nice in the end. Got me there in just about an hour and 40 mins.

I know the depression you are going through when you're sitting at the airport waiting to leave and you would give anything to stay, we all go through it. The secret is to always have another monger trip booked and ready so that you know in the back of your mind within a few short weeks you'll be back in paradise somewhere in the world. I was in Sosua about three weeks ago and was depressed as hell about leaving and would of given anything to stay longer but I knew within a couple weeks I was going to make a run to Boys Town in NL was depressed about leaving there yesterday but on Friday I'm leaving for Medellin, the secret is to always have another trip booked before you leave your last trip. Certain rules you have to live your life by, for me it's to never go more than four weeks between a monger trip.
Texas isn't hell, it just feels that way after being in paradise.

Yeah there isn't any mention of any prostitution in the vids so I think I'll be okay. I did have to disable the comments though sense someone posted some shit that I don't think I want my family or Suzy reading. Also, it was the entire vacation and the DR in general that got to me, not just her. However, it does sadden me knowing that her mother is trying to pimp her out and turn her in to a puta chica. I know that it is poverty that forces those girls to do what they do. Oh well. Next time, I really want to visit more of that country, I can only imagine what the rest of that country is like once I perfect my Spanish. Do I want to live there? I certainly am tired of the USA I will tell you that. Where will I be when I retire. Don't know but it won't be in the USA if I can help it.

I finally got the strength and energy to start writing up my week long first time experience at Sosua. This report is more for those who never visited this place before for the purpose of mongering. I will write this in two parts.
I just want to briefly note that even though the POP airport is new and bigger (I assume) it took forever for me to board my plane back home. Line ups were long and slow. Getting on the island was a little faster.
New Garden and solo travel.
I have booked my stay at New Garden for the reasons of location, solo travel, nice rooms, on site chicas, pool and included breakfast. The rooms are nice and clean with steady hot water, and the location is fantastic. But unfortunately due to late nights, I only partook in two of the seven breakfasts. Each night I was out until closing time at D'Latins and the girls often did not leave / get out of bed until after 11:00 am. At times during the day there were more girls outside of the hotel than inside. Real disappointment regarding resident chicas. The pool I did not use, and the setting did not work out for me regarding meeting other fellow mongers. I am kind of shy by nature and approaching strange men is not easy for me. Strange women is another story-LOL. Almost everyone was in groups, and I did not feel comfortable just barging in. I was hoping for a larger bar like setting. The bar that was there was small and usually it was occupied by the few girls available. I am sure my unease at initiating talk with people I do not know played a significant role in my lack of success with regards to this issue. So it was kind of initiation by fire. I have actually never travelled abroad without friends or family. But the moment you leave the New Garden, there are plenty of girls trying to chat you up. The owner Lorenzo does not exude warmth, but he does run a tight ship. One of the girls kind of barged in to see me, as she was late couple of hours for our date due to oversleeping, and when I returned with her from the bar early in the morning security would not let her in, on an order from Lorenzo. I thought this was shit, as he should have consulted me first. I met Rick from Rocky's briefly and he appears to be so much more of an affable and approachable person. Lorenzo really takes himself too seriously. I have to admit though that the nightly dinner specials were fantastic. The food was really good. I do not think I will return to NG next time, as it was poor value for me at $67 US per night (with discount and cash) during low season. I would consider one of Rocky's or other establishments in the future. More of an apartment / condo setting. Solo travel turned out to be an enlightening and interesting experience. I would do it the same way next time.
Sosua, the hustle and the food.
Some of the older posts described the place as a shithole. I do not think so. I found it charming and the beach was really nice with fine sand and blue / green water. Also, everything one wanted was available. The people were mostly nice and the hustle was relatively low key compared to some of the places I have visited. One 'NO thank you' was enough. Also, around the bar zone I felt safe and secure at night, and never used a money belt or zipped up pocket. Many restaurants can be found on the main strip and the beach with all kinds of good western food available. And the booze is cheap. I preferred rum based drinks as El Presidente is just your plain old pilsner. I was also surprised how few people smoked.
I will describe the bar scene and the chicas in my next post.
What makes Sosua special is everyday is better then any Saturday nite anywhere in the US. When you spend your money you do not want a possible good time. You want to know that it is on. Sosua will not let you down 7 days a week.

Its about 2 and a half hour drive if you don't stop to sight see. My friend set a record 2 hours last month!

Everything in Sosua that you need is within walking distance or a short moto ride. Most girls out and about in Sosua are there for p4p.
Not so in Santiago. I still need more time learning where all the p4p spots are. The car washes, the clubs etc. However, the challenge Santiago presents is trying to hook up with non pros looking for foreign men to date. And thats where social media comes into play. If you connect with someone on lets say, dominican cupid, you may be able to hookup with a nice lady that doesn't have you on the clock. With social media, if a chica responds to your profile even though she knows you don't speak much spanish, thats an indication she doesn't have a problem with a language barrier.
I know some guys worry about that. I went to the Ahi Bar alone one night in Santiago, and not one chica stared me down or smiled like they do in Sosua. Most of the women were in groups, pairs or coupled up. There may have been some who noticed me, but they didn't make it obvious. Having said that, that doesn't mean I may not be able to meet regular chicas there on another night. I may be there this week and this time with an amigo wingman. Maybe two guys may spark interest and create an opportunity for some brave girls to open up?
The major difference as far as going out in sti vs Sosua? Many of the women in sti have the money to go to a restaurant / bar. Many pull up in their own cars. A lot of the women in Sosua or those that come to Sosua are poorer, and most don't own or drive cars. Their poorer circumstances may make them chicas more approachable and ready for action. Whereas the Santiago chicas you find in a bar or restaurant may be more of a challenge, especially if you don't speak spanish. They may not want to come off as being too easy, or be perceived as a puta.
Ironically, many of the chicas that you find in Sosua come from Santiago to hustle. The trick is, how do you find these p4p chicas in Santiago when you are in Santiago? So far the only thing that has worked for me in sti, is one 40 yr old dom cupid chica I'm not really interested in, and my blonde chica that I met in Sosua but she lives in sti. Many of the dom cupid chicas are stressing that they are looking for something serious. And if they sense you're not they may not bite. Plus one must strike quickly because these women are usually sending messages to several guys at one time. You wait a week to respond to an interested chica and you may not get a response because she's already on some other cat.
