This is the same as America. More closely the way it happens...the Phils wont APPROVE a visa without substantial assets. Why? They know people want to get out, and they want some kind of assurance they will come back. Otherwise, whats to stop half the country from "touristing" in Europe/Australia/USA and not returning?

Yes barebacking is VERY common for alot of reasons. But to specifically answer your question, according to WHO the infection rate is the lowest of all SE asia, and pretty low overall.

As a side note, please make sure you go through your series of vaccinations before you come. The possibility of getting a nasty can be diminished, and theres more here than by sex. At a minimum make sure you have tetenous, typhoid, hep B and hep C.

Could any of you fellow mongers settle a dispute I have with a friend of mine?

My friend told me that when his was in Angeles last month, he bar fined a girl for one night for 1,300 PHP. He was so impressed with the service the girl gave him the first night, that he decided to keep her for the remainder of his trip, ( 16 days). He approached the mamassan and asked her if he can get a long term discount on the bar fine.

The mamassan advised him the following:

He can pay 26,000 PHP to the bar and the girl is his to keep not just for 16 days, but as long as he wants in this trip and all his subsequent trips he dosn't have to pay the bar fine anymore, as long as the girl is still working in the same bar of course. But he had to ask the girl if she will agree to that.

Of the 26,000 that he paid to the bar, the girl gets half of that PHP 13,000.

Option 2 was to pay the bar PHP 13,000, the girl gets nothing of that, but he had to negotiate with the girl how much she wanted. Again if the girl came to an aggreement with him, he didn't have to pay any more bar fines forever.

Has anyone heard of such an arrangment ever?

I have not heard of all bars doing this. However one of the first trips i took to ac i really like one of the girls from Perimeter Rd. It worked EXACTLY like you said in your question. Did I take up the bar on this offer? Well no I did not but it would be interesting to see if the bar would honor that "lifetime barfine" on my return.

I have not heard of that one, but even if the ladies do not have a day off, by my calculations even if he paid the barfine in full for the sixteen days, it would only amount to 20,800 Pesos with the lady's cut included.

Of course if she had a day off, or two, it would only be her cut for those days, so even cheaper, say 19000 Pesos or so.

And then if she were menstruating for some of that time???

So while I have not heard of that particular swindle, it sounds to me like the mamasan saw him coming and added the 'noddy tax'.

He would be better to ask the lady when her period was, and then pay the full barfine up to that point.

Exactly what I said to him, after I did my calculations also.

His point is, that he doesn't have to bar fine the girl again, on his next trip.

He is planning to go to AC again in July for three weeks.

My point is, if he is lucky enough, to find the same girl, working in the same bar LOL

I have a friend in Cebu and her best friend is top girl in Silver dollar bar. I ask her about her friend,and she told me Korean guy liftime barfine her!!! So im guessing she is talking about the same thing.
