Girl Friendly Hotel In Patong
There are Bangkok and Pattaya Hotels Threads.
But there isn't any Phuket Hotel Thread!
I have booked my 5 nights in Bangkok at the Majectic Grande (3,700 baht per night), and also my 5 nights in Pattaya at the Baboona Beachfront (2,100 baht per night).
BKK's Majestic Grande is a 4 star hotel on Sukhumvit's prime location with excellent housekeeping and exquisite room service around the clock.
Pattaya's Baboona Beachfront is a solid Boutique Hotel right on the beach road with great sunset view of Patong Bay.
Both are guest-friendly hotels with no joiner's fees whatsoever, but also being 4 and 3 star hotels respectively.
However, I cannot seem to find the same type of Hotels for Phuket! All I can find is lower-end "motels" higher up on Soi san sabai.
I am looking for a 4-star hotel (or a good 3 star at least) not too far from Bangla Rd, beachfront a plus, around 3,300 Baht per night, for 5 nights in August.
Any tips highly appreciated.
Thanks
Take a Look at the Safari Beach Hotel

Safari Beach might be what you're looking for. I've stayed there many times and find the Beach Wing quiet, girl friendly with great location (50m from Bangla). Price for seaview is alittle pricey (B5000), but the other Beach Wing rooms are approx B3000 in low season. Cafe on beach for great morning after coffee and breakfast. I highly recommend it.
Help! Dentist/Hotel advice needed
After many hours of RTFF over the past couple of weeks, and getting ready for Pattaya, a wise ISG member and pal (1Ball) has just now convinced me I should go to Phuket instead. Reason is that I'll only be in Thailand about five days, and every day I will be getting major dental work, so I won't be in full party mode. I also want a decent beach for serious swimming and exercise (since I've been on a fitness kick for a few weeks. Four kilos down in the past few weeks; four more to go and I'll look like Adonis again ;)). Also, I will have to return to the same dentist in a few months for the follow-up work, and will bring my wife. Based on this, Pattaya is not a good idea, but Phuket is.
My problem is that I fly out tomorrow, but will be locked in meetings all day until I get to the airport - so no time to RTFF about Phuket at this late stage.
Can anyone recommend a good dentist, and a good GF hotel near the action, with large rooms and a large lap-swimming pool, or near the beach (for serious swimming/jogging).
Good info much appreciated. Thanks!
The Thais think Phuket is so cool
Did not read other reports so this may have already been discussed. Just got back last month from 3 month visit to Thailand. Spent most of time in Pattaya but decided to take the sweet lady staying with me down to Phuket for road trip.
Phuket is one big clip joint. The beaches suck. The a-hole drivers would stop off at shops after agreeing to the "no-stop-no-shop" clause and sit and beg me to go in and look at crap. In fact, not one ever just took me to where I wanted to go without trying to get me to check out a tourist trinket hole. Only after screaming at them would they take me to their destination. I tried to get a traditional massage and wound up finding out I had a post op catooee that ends up asking me to feel her new equipment after trying to flip me over to bring the massage to a fast-lazy wank ending. I'd be getting my hair cut and some 4 eyed skank would start giving me a foot massage but rather than do the massage the lazy ho starts flashing a fat thonged ass at me trying to coax me into a back stall for a $50 HJ. I'd walk into a Nepalese tailor shop and these dudes would have breath so foul I'd be gagging. My hotel charged me 500bht for bringing in a girl for 1/2 an hour just so we could change and shower before hitting Patong beach, then again for bringing one home that night. I'd get scolded about making too much boom boom noise but they put me in a room right over the lobby. They didn't tell me until I got the print out about the "guest" charge and they found it very amusing. This was the Swiss Inn at the far end of town. The Thais down there think they are in Santa Barbara or Palm Beach but it is really no much more than a Cancun without the nearby ruins. The mustached malay moolie drivers down that way make the pushy Balinesians seem meek. They routinely sell excursions to Phi Phi and other nearby destinations at the little travel desk on the street by the Swiss Inn Knowing full and well that it is too rough in fall for that and they are never there at the little desk the next morning when the folks show up for their refund for the boat that never left the dock. I saw a lack of Isan Farm girls there but MANY tatooed trollups that belonged on Soi Cowboy or NEP. The only thing good permanent things in Phuket are the comical Swedish pensioneers and the Green Curries. I wouldn't go back there if somebody gave me a free ticket! Use your head and go to Bali instead!
