I'm all booked up and ready for my next Pattaya trip.
Now only the accommodation left.....

Was thinking about Le-Katai, as it seems to tick all the boxes:
Balcony
Free Wifi
Close to Soi LK (my fave)
Easy access to baht bus
Good menu and drinks variety
...and most important...GF with (i believe) private entrance.

Have RTTF, but hardly a mention.
Anybody stayed here, or have any knowledge about the place.
Can somebody please confirm if they do indeed have a private entrance, as conflicting info on the net.

As always, any information would be most appreciated.

My friend stayed here while I stayed at Areca. He had a bad experience- paid 650 and got the room facing the street which was loud until 2am and then loud from 6am with people setting up stalls. The rooms were dirty, air con weak and no security on the door. No safe box and the downstairs one you need to bring your own lock.

Pass on this one. Plus the reception wasn't that friendly or customer friendly

Thanks LBM for your input on the Nova Gold location.
Their website says 10 minutes walk to the beach. I'd say that is possible but you'd be really moving. For those who like the Soi 6 area, this hotel is not a bad location.

While I did like the hotel I will never go back and not recommend it because the staff has no clue about service.

It went like this.
On my first night, of 5 booked, it was raining hard when I returned to the hotel. They assured me on check-in that the shuttle would pick me up any time day or night from 2nd road. I called for the shuttle and it never showed. When I sloshed into the lobby totally drenched from a motorbike ride in the rain, I was not happy.

A couple of days later I asked to have my room made up while I went out. Returning 4 hours later it was not.

On checkout they pulled the minibar scam on me. I was not so opposed to paying for the opened mineral water that they claimed came from my minibar, but the desk clerk asked me 5 times if I consumed it.
She really pissed me off because she insinuated that I was lying even after I told her what I really wanted was to checkout and be on my way - pay for it if need be. Also, when she asked me how was the room, I truthfully answered that it was great, except the hot water sometimes was in short supply.
She suggested that I did not let it run long enough rather than acknowlege the problem.

So, it's very nice at 1350 on wotif but the staff knows nothing about customer service.

I stayed recently at the Mercure - can endorse most of the comments of Ryo below and in the full post. Got it a fraction cheaper on wotif

Nothing much more to say but I got advice on the Mercure before I went so am reporting back..

Any comments on Mike Hotel - like its location but can't find much recent on the form - I am expecting it to be a bit run down etc but clean and functional enough - GF I assume but always good to have these things confirmed.

Looking for a place with a fitness center/weights and pool (not just pool) in addition to all the usual girl-friendly qualities and free wifi etc.

Would like to spend around 50 dollars a day.

Ideas?

I just walked past it and it's more than a BIT rundown. It's on top of a seedy third rate shopping stall. I don't think you'd really enjoy it. There are SO many better choices.

The Citin Garden Resort is having a special promotion with rooms under 1,000 baht/night.

It's seldom you find 38-sq m rooms which hold such a high standard at such a low price. Check out the details: [url="http://www.citingardenresort.com/offers.php"]Citin Garden Resort[/url]. You have to stay three nights to get the low rate.

The hotel's location is a bit out of the way (off Pattaya Tai not far from Sukhumvit Road, maybe five minutes' walk from BigC), but it has tuk-tuk service and it's really not a long walk to the baht bus routes.

I haven't stayed at the Citin Garden Resort, but I have stayed at the Citin Loft and it was an excellent hotel. It's the same chain.

Is there such a thing? I like a place that's quite between midnight and 10AM. I'm thinking the LK Renaissance looks nice, but I'm worried about the noise which seems to be everywhere in Pattaya. Also just contemplating paying up to stay at the Marriott.

I am staying at the LK Renaissance now there are no problems with noise, I always stay in one of the studio rooms at the back, (1800 Baht all in) The hotel is great service is excellent free breakfast, I stay in Marriots and Hyatts world wide TH LK is just as good but much better value. My girl friend at the moment loves it she said the staff are nice with her and make her feel welcome. She was in Areca lodge before and says the staff there look down on bar girls and won't speak with them but they are allowed in.

If it wasn't for the bar girls the would be a lot of empty hotel rooms in Pattaya.

LK is not noisy at all unlike soi 8-9 or soi 6 area hotel just get a higher floor and you should be OK, I never sleep it night any way too busy FXXXing just sleep during the day.

A while ago I went to Jasmine Hotel for a short time around 5am. She said "Do you want short time or long time" and I said "Short time" to which she replied "Sorry, all full." I wondered why she even asked me. Instead of questioning or being sarcastic I said "Okay no problem, give me an overnight room" and it was 450 baht. The room had good lighting but smelled a little like mildew. It was odd that there was a kitchen area, hot plate to cook, but no dishes.

They're all along the beach, but you'll find a lot between 13/2 and Central Pattaya Klang. Mikes Shopping Mall (Soi 12) is about the middle I suppose.
