Cali Reports

You've become quite the expert on Cali after your first trip.

We lose one Colombia know-it-all and he is replaced by another.

All, I just got back from a week in Cali and thought I'd post my experiences.

The spots I hit:

- escoses(sp?)- went at night, left after an hour. Lots of Women, prices were, I believe: 150k for 30 min, 250k for 1 hour. ~ 30 ladies, a few 10s.

- Frescas Flores (fresh flowers) - lots of fine (and "fake") babes, boob jobs etc. most expensive: 200k for 30 min, 300k for 1 hour. Their main offering is a lesbian sex show 2-3 times a night. All the guys were so focused during the show, you probably could have taken their wallets and no one would have noticed! They also charged a cover, about 15k, I believe. Left there early, headed to.

- pharos - crowd from fresh flowers seemed to follow us there. Seemed livelier. about 20 or so girls. You could see the degradation in quality (and prices) compared to fresh flowers. Rooms were less clean. Better "party" atmosphere. The ladies would dance with/for you, seemed more into the clientele. Only place I've seen where there were legitimate "dogs" that worked there.

- Casa de Docto de Amor - yep, liked this place. Closes at 9pm or so. Clean rooms, reasonable prices; about $12.50 (U.S. cost, though paid in pesos) for 30 min.

- Went to a place listed in the forum here. There were 5 girls there, they were sleeping. The manager gave us the name of another place close by. Told us to go there, and come back to his place after 6pm. I don't recall the address/name of the other place. It was a house and only had 5 girls there. But, they were all nice looking and very friendly. price was 70k for 30 minutes, 100k for 1 hour.

- Hit about 3-4 others, don't recall their names.

Restaurants:

- Sol (?) - great fried calimari
- Tizones (sp) - great Italian Food

Couple of other notes;

- We hit Jala Jala, damn the music is loud in these places! We were treated like VIPS. We left to eat, came back an hour later and our booth was held for us, even though the place was packed!

- River Ponces - visited on Sunday, seems like a big hangout for the locals. Not much to see compared to other beaches I've been to worldwide, but something to do.

- Malls - hit Chipe Chape (sp), and Cosmo Centro - interesting places. Great to "girl watch".

- Trying to talk to the ladies on the street was more difficult than I expected. When I'd speak, they just kept focused looking ahead.

Have others noticed this as well?

Same with those walking in the malls. The best shots we had at talking to the locals were: ladies at a bar, ones that worked in the stores/restaurants. Also, if I had a legitimate "ice breaker" question, like "where is so and so place located?" it's be easier to strike up a conversation.

- Also, we were told to be careful talking to ladies that had one or more guys with them as the guys could try to cause trouble. In Jala Jala, there were virtually NO ladies by themselves, or in a group with no guys. So, we were less apt to approach them. Based on what I've read by others, we may have been a bit more paranoid than need be.

- I'm not a fan of Colombian beer, but I could tolerate Brava (and sometimes Poker).

- Getting out of Columbia was an experience! We hit, I'd guess, about 9 "checkpoints". Answered every question you could imagine: "do you have a girlfriend? Why not? Why are you here? One of our group also got a "modern-day cavity search": they x-rayed his stomach, I guess to see if he had swallowed any "contraband".

Overall:

- Had a good time. It's best if you speak some spanish, no question. The people are some of the nicest I've encountered in my travels. We had no problems. When you connect with a Chica the experience is wonderful, usually better, more genuine with a non-pro.

I bear you no ill will and hope you find what you are looking for, though it is my definite opinion you are wading into completely uncharted waters based on what you are used to and also, I hate to be frank, but it´s the likes of you who generally screw up a heretofore friendly developing world P4P environment.

let me guess, your first stop in MDG will be the so called "mansion", created uniquely for your type of ahem "traveler", and typically a bane of destruction for the favorable P4P environment first discovered by travelers in the last decade in these countries.

in other friendly local news, today´s El Pais has the Colombian Minister of Defense saying that FARC after their failures in and around Bogota, has now set their eyes on Cali, but swears the govt will not allow them to establish a foothold here. Perhaps the FARC can blow up the so called Cali Mansion when it´s built

in other news of note, if you´re a calena university student with English skills there are lots of ads for you to make good money (by local standards) by video chatting to idiot extranjeros.

mate I was visiting Bali and Thailand 28 years ago.. and I was not an ugly American.... but an Australian having fun... did not grow up in US but a country where p4p is legal....

I was enjoying these offerings in Bali and Thailand long before they became the meccas for the trade... though SE Asia has been in this trade a lot longer than I have been around... the pricing stayed low for a lot of years until the numbers grew to such high numbers that they could start asking more and find enough to pay it... I may not pay the least... but I generally don't overpay - I stick with what has been posted as the going rates and use that as my goal... sometimes I get lower and others if the chica is really hot will pay a little more - especially if she has gotten good reviews by people I trust...

And yes I will make my first stop at the Mansion - best place to hook with others since I am making my trip solo with just a little Spanish.

the thing is in the world of P4P you rarely know (for sure).

that is because in this "line of work" one´s personal problems and moods are reflected more so than in any other profession. Escoces can be a great place if you can weed through the "tiburones" (sharks) and find the nice sweet chicas; they can be found there.

Sit with a chica, bond with her, make her laugh, pay the multa, I think it's only 40,000 pesos, and take her out. If you can get away with it, don't even talk price with her. If she doesn't talk about money, she probably likes you, obvious good sign :)

That's my Escoces strategy in a nutshell.
Paying 150-200,000 pesos for 30 minutes in-house ... hahaha ... nunca (never).

if you stay until they nearly close, then there is no multa/salida to pay.
most will try to charge you say 200K, or 150 for 2 hours but you can get them for a 100 if she needs it/likes you.

the tiburones are fairly easy to spot.

A week in Cali does a monger good. It also makes for alot of make up reading upon return since I don't bother with the boards while on vacation anymore.

It behooves me to to add a comment on the Cali Reports since I am just back from one of the most successful trips to Cali to date.

I decided to seek out and find new unchartered P4P places and found three new ones that more than satisfied me. One had real hardworking girls giving BBBJ and ball licking as regular service rather than the exception. The other had hot and cold running water (a rarity a P4P places) and the facilities were exceptionally clean and the above average girls surprisingly were not used to seeing a gringos. 'Sexy' Latina site entrepreneur slain By FRANK BAJAK, Associated Press Writer

BOGOTA, Colombia - An American entrepreneur who introduced foreign men to "young, sexy, exotic and beautiful Latin Women" via the Internet was killed in the western city of Cali by gunmen on a motorcycle, police said Saturday.

Robert Marshall Vignola, 50, of Hamden, Conn., says on the Web site [url]http://www.latinwomenconnection.com[/url] that he founded the Cali, Colombia-based company in 1999. The site says the company "has assisted hundreds of clients in the search for the Latin Woman of their dreams."

In addition to offering contact with women pictured in bikinis for $20 each, the Web site promoted vacation packages to Cali including a "private tour" accompanied by Vignola for $600 per day plus airfare.

The site also sold a book penned by Vignola entitled "Secrets of Romancing Latin Women." It describes Latin females as "the type of women that make a man's heart race, blood boil and libido accelerate into overdrive."

Vignola was shot and killed Thursday night by two men on a motorcycle while driving to Cali's airport, police said. His 33-year-old Colombian wife, Beatriz Ramos, was hospitalized with bullet wounds in the shoulder.

Cali's police chief, Gen. Alberto Moore, told The Associated Press on Saturday that authorities did not know why he was killed but had ruled out robbery.

Cali, home to Colombia's dominant cocaine cartel in the 1990s, remains among the country's most violent cities.

In addition to the "matrimonial service," Vignola had a casino in Cali that went bankrupt, leaving him with considerable debts, Moore said. "So it's said that possibly people could have been demanding money, and he didn't pay and so they took this reprisal."

Moore said Vignola had financial problems in the United States but said he had no details.

Relatives of Vignola in Connecticut, where according to his personal Web site he practiced law and offered assistance in obtaining mortgages, would not comment.

"We're in mourning right now so please don't bother us," said a man who answered the phone at Vignola's father's home.

A friend of Vignola in Cali who spoke on condition he not be identified said Vignola only visited the city three or four times a year.

The Web site describes Vignola as its "former owner and original founder" and recounts how he met his wife in Colombia after deciding he had "almost no chance of finding the woman of my dreams here in the United States."
