Is Dlatins and El toro the same place as the article states. Maybe Classicos can be resurrected.

At one time, as I remember, it was upstairs closer to the beach than where it is now, but on the same side to where. It was also in the building now used by El Toro, which is what they are referring to.

This is the place on the same side of Classicos and Merengue Bar next to the German bar where all of the Haitians hang out at. Not D'Latins which is across the street on the same side as Rumbas.
Incidentally, Willy used to own Latinos too. He sold it to some Canadians during the 2011 crackdowns, then threw up a new spot (D'Latins) right across the street from his new competitors, lol!

What do you mean by smoke. Cigars or weed. This is a sensitive subject because weed is illegal here and very illegal in the DR for some reason. Sosua is the best place I have ever been to have a buzz. It is easy and safe to walk around in. The music makes for a great atmosphere and yes the women. My dancing when buzzed is very good. Never the less if you ever have problem which I think is very remote it would be a night mare. I was surprised that so few DR girls smoked but all the Haitianas did.

i predict cleaning up the beach of freelancers will be the next phase, what excuse they will use? i'm sure they will find something.
what will become of establishments like rocky's, new garden and the others? they will adapt or die. right now the money for them is in mongers and they are on our side, but if we start to dwindle away and regular family tourists start to fill the void they will adapt or go out of business. they will cater to the family tourist and no longer will they want mongers traipsing through their establishment with a chica in hand in front of their family tourist. you can't blame them they will have to adapt to the new market or go under.

So I've been back about a week now and found some interesting things out about the girl in my pics and youtube video. We've been talking on FB here and there and she has even been calling me almost every day since I left telling me how she is in love and doesn't want any other men. Well, she may feel that now being so young, but I know what she does to pay the phone bill and buy food. I'm sure there have already been other dudes digging all in her guts since I left.
Anyway, yesterday a chica from Santo Domingo contacted me on FB. She is FB friends and an ex coworker with Suzy [her fake name and the giri in the vids. ] Suzy used to work at a perfume shop with this girl in Santo Domingo when she got fired once her boss found out she was a prostitute and her mother is a thief / scam artist. This happened last December. Well a side note on the time frame. Suzy turned eighteen last December so she was already hooking before she was even of legal age. Sad. From what this girl was telling me, she said to be careful with these two because they are known to set men up and blackmail them. The mother even pulled a knife in the girl's face when she had to fire Suzy. Since then, somewhere along the line, they moved to Sosua. Haven't been there long enough to establish a bad reputation but maybe the mother was just waiting till her daughter turned 18 to move her to the puta capital of the DR.
From what I have learned by observing the mother with my own eyes none of what this girl told me was shocking. I already had the spidey-sense thing going on with her mother and played my cards right to not get caught up in a scam. the us government has attempted this approach on drugs by eradicating coca, mj, opium plants etc. so far it is not working.
my guess is the government of puerto plata is attempting to improve the overall image by reducing the obvious prostitution. it is impossible to completely stop but it may appease the new cruise ship customers. mongers simply must adjust and step-up their game.

chris[/quote]sosua has gone through this cycle before and it does ultimately reduce tourist cash flow because ai tourists don't spend as much in the local businesses. it's unlikely reduced mongering will lead to any large upswing in other tourism but it will make it easier on real estate developers. big nearby ai tourist developments like playa dorada that have always kept mongering very discreet are just barely scraping by or closing. punta cana isn't doing that well. sosua-caberete's biggest business is selling real estate to extranjeros, providing a relatively comfortable setting for people who want to buy condos or villas.
the dr is a very player friendly culture but it's also very conservative about appearances. it's awash in drug cartel money but has stiff penalties for weed. every little town has a disco tipico with chicas waiting to be barfined out and short stay cabanas and a very friendly attitude to p4p, but would be shocked by american style open porn sales or topless bars.
