I'm not surprised. I've visited close to 90 brazilian cities/village. All of them, without exception, had puteiros. Even the smallest villages had a cabaré.
I can't imagine how many puteiros there are in Rio. Funny though, the least possible places IMO where to find puteiros in Rio are in the favelas.

It appears Brazil will soon move to electronic visa, which will reduce the hassle factor that previously existed of needing to send the actual passport via physical mail or delivery to get the visa stamp.

There is not expected to be a change to the $160 fee, which is substantial to a visitor that might only go to Brazil a few times during the ten year visa period. It in fact is enough to buy a guy a good session in the many countries, such as those in Europe, that do not require a visa for USA Travelers. It's now located in Botafogo which is about 10 min taxi ride from Copacabana. For this club you will need to take a girl along with you and the best nights are Friday and Saturday nights with Saturday being even better. Men must be with a woman and Women can go in by themselves, you can also bring 2 girls with you if you want.

The real action starts about midnight and lasts until 3 am but the place has a little dance floor and a bar so you can hang out before and after, I like to get there about 11 PM to get the vibe of the place and see the current couples to see what's available.

In past few years I have only taken GDP's with me and paid them for what I would tell them is about 3 hours of work, most enjoy the night out with drinking and dancing and sometimes dinner. It's important they enjoy the swinger scene and most of them have, the quality of time you have will largely depend upon the girl you bring. Is she attractive to other couples, will she play along and does she look believable enough to be your girlfriend. This could be a hard one depending upon your age and if you speak Portuguese or not but it's not a show stopper. The price for a couple is 100 Reais, single female 40. A limited number of single men are allowed on Thursday with an entrance of 270 Reais.

It is a popular club and gets crowded. The crowd is fairly educated and many people speak English if that is important to you. Couples usually are 30 – 50 years-old with the man and women about the same age. There also are obvious john and prostitute couples, old guys with young girls. This is why I bring non-pros. You do not have to interact sexually with other couples. You can watch or be watched. But if you do, my experience has been that other non-pro woman do not want to interact with men accompanied by pros. Though there are women there for a gang-bang fantasy, many non-pro couples are there to meet like-minded people with whom they can get together outside the club. Keep in mind that in Brazil sex is often more openly discussed. I have been surprised and a little embarrassed by what non-pros have shared with their friends. I've been in Rio for about a week and its very slow at the termas. Almost every terma I have been to has less girls working, especially 4 X4. I don't know where they have gone but its slim pickings in the termas, they arent overflowing with garotas like in the past. I probably should have put off my trip until December when the girls would need Christmas money.

I agree, things have certainly taken a turn for the worse. This is my 4th trip to Rio, the last one was 5 years ago and the termas are not what they once were.

It was my friend's first trip to Rio, so I took him to Centaurus and it was absolutely stunning how few people there were. Perhaps 10 girls and 3 guys. And the quality was average. Still I helped my friend select Isabella, who had one of the best bundas there. Not the huge Latina bunda, but slim and firm California beach girl bunda. As for myself, I chose Twenny. Just great, as we went through all the positions and since I'd already had a session, I lasted extra long and I took advantage of it.

So yes, Centaurus has gone down since 5 years ago, but still can be pretty damn good.
