Can someone tell me what I should be paying for an airport cab to Hotel Central Plaza around midnight? My flight gets in late and I have not been to Medellin before. Are some cab companies more trustworthy than others? Pointers are appreciated given the late arrival.

David.
Shared mini bus or a full sized buss for SUPER cheap. I've never taken it but I've debated it with guys before. Key word search Bus Airport or Colectivo and it should pop up. It's like $4 USD and it drops you right in Centro I believe.
Lights on Rio or not, I wouldn't advise MDE between Christmas and NY's. I don't know where you went in Cali, but there are tons of hot Calenas and from Dec 25-30, the City is more alive than at any other time of year.
My only complaint with Cali is that there are too many silicone tits and asses (yes even more than MDE).
This statement, not to visit MDE between Christmas and NY, is less than accurate. I have traveled there at least 5-6 times in the days that immediately followed Christmas, and there was PLENTY of action. Never been there before Christmas, but suspect it slows considerably on 12/24 and 25 as they spend time with their families. But after that, it is FULL-ON! NYE is a bit strange as most will opt to spend time with their families, until about midnight. But I have never had a problem getting a quality date for a NYE party. Unsure if the casas are operating because I am not a casa guy, but freelancers are readily available.
Damn, what did those "regular" girls do to you to drive you to P4P?
They started leaving empty spots on my fuck calendar. So I filled in the available time slots with prepagos.
I guess I could start banging women in their thirties but I'm not old enough to go there yet.

Unlike in the US, Christmas Eve is a major party night in Colombia and throughout South America. That's not necessarily great for the hobby, but it's not like girls are all home knitting with grandma. If you have only a few days to visit and plan to stay the 24th-25th-26th, sure, that could be frustrating, but if you are making a visit of a couple weeks or more during the holidays, I don't think it will be much of an issue, especially if you have multiple methods of finding girls. I've spent many in NYs here and neighboring countries.

You do not want to be dropped off in Centro with luggage on your first trip at MIDNIGHT!
Hello?
And you are recommending this and you have never done it, but you have "debated it with guys?"
And it is super cheap?
I have personally taken this bus from Centro to the airport. In the daytime! After living in the city for a couple of months! With a back pack only! It was still not a comfortable experience while waiting, although once on the bus it is fine. And I am fluent in Spanish and have been all over Latin America. You should not be recommending this without having any idea of what it is actually like.
55-65 k pesos.
.
Thank you everyone for the info. I rarely would do a bus in the day in most countries. The 60 k info keeps me from being ripped off.
So true. And a taxi is not only safe and comfortable, but also cheap for US standards: only 60 k (standard fare), which is 15 USD.

The airport bus
I would not recommend it or do it unless money is so tight that a taxi is not affordable. In that case, I would recommend staying home and saving money until there is enough to travel safely and comfortably. Few if any of us are backpackers.
Did you not see MIDNIGHT? You do not want to be dropped off in Centro with luggage on your first trip at MIDNIGHT!
First trip probably not. Subsequent trips when I know where I am going, sure. It all depends on your comfort level. I have never arrived at midnight, but I have left to go to the airport on the 4 am bus. No problems for me. Another member arrived at 10 pm a few weeks ago for his first trip. No problems for him either. He did meet a chick that told him to get to the hotel as fast as he could though. I'm sure he will give us reports when he gets a chance.
Many of the guys saying no are probably guys who have never done it as well. No problem DATY and barebacking strange pussy, but I see that being dropped off downtown is where some folks draw the line. LOL.

Perhaps it is because the chicas pockets are empty after buying Christmas gifts they cannot afford, and now looking for something to replace it with. LOL.

David.
Hotel Central Plaza is in the Mayorista strip in Itagui and it is not in Centro. To save money, I would recommend first take the airport bus or taxi-collectivo (10-15 k pesos) to San Diego, where local taxis should be lined up for passengers even after the midnight. Then, take the local taxi to Mayorista. I've done it before and it is lot cheaper than taking the taxi from the Rio Negro (MDE) airport to Mayorista (60-70 k pesos). When you arrive at the Mayorista strip, you would see lots of chicas looking for clients even after the midnight. I hope this would help. Good luck.

Energia
I went to energia. I thought they might give you a chance to sit and chat a little but they wanted to usher all the girls in. The mamasan was not too helpful although I saw some other latino customers sitting with girls.
There doesn't seem to be many clubs here. Mosly casas it seems? I am back in poblado and the server here is trying to get a friend to come out.

Super Chimba de Hotel
In 2014, I reported about the Motel Lafayette (say Motel "Lafajet" to the taxi driver), just 1 block from Metro Prado and Casablanca:
http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showthread.php?583-Medellin-Reports&p=1547921&viewfull=1#post1547921
I found another one which beats all. Colombians really know how to manage sex out of home.
Highly recommended for any sex escapage with a superior girl:
Motel Ibiza, in Itagu (10 k taxi from Poblado).
http://motelibiza.com/
It offers nearly EVERYTHING, including roooms with two king size beds (understood?) and sauna for 6 (yes), and even more. From the web site:
Todas nuestras habitaciones cuentan con servicio de:
Internet Wi-Fi.
Televisores LED 42″ (55″ suite presidencial, 70″ Masion).
Todas las habitaciones tienen discoteca why barra de pole dance.
Algunas cuentan con jacuzzi why turco.
Suite Presidencial es para 4 personas (ideal para ocupaciand mltiple), persona adicional tiene precio extra.
Look at the photos on the web site and tell me if Colombians are not one step ahead everyone else. You will appreciate the love wheel, for example. And the nice touch to have a dance pole conveniently in room. And the sauna for 6?
Cost is affordable, from 76 k. Incredible, right?
