I pleaded that this is a stopover and I am going onward to CDMX after Tijuana monger. Not entering Cali.

I wasn't done with that permit. What are my options?

You are supposed to give that paper to the gate agent when you board your flight leaving the country. All you can do now is tell them the same story you just told. Wanted to drive into Tijuana in next days through San Ysidro for some surf in Ensenada and some squid in HKong as well as other side trips. It sounds like guys are walking over. Is driving over border possible as well? Websites say other wise not, sure what's official or unofficial. Thanks guys any info I'm sort of in rush to go.

Driving over is quick and effortless. I have been driving over 4 times since the CoVid shutdown. Traffic is lighter than before. Was never checked for paper or anything at the El Chaparral check point or anywhere in Tijuana. I also drove all over downtown and Zona Rio last week with no one impeding.

Every time I tell them (in Spanish) that I am staying in Tijuana and they have not taken it off me. You can buy one at the airport and if you are going to CDMX, you are supposed to have one. The last time I left (2 weeks ago), they were also checking on departures, so you'll be forced to buy one. There is a kiosk there in the airport to buy them.

Now its 22 pesos. Most business have lost money from covid. Some made money from it. But the people who lost money probably figure why not ask for more to make it up. I know my buds purchase Mexican insurance, etc. And some research last night led me to other documents a driver would need to drive without police issues. I'm very familiar with both Thailand and Tijuana and you are wrong. If you are thinking of seeing many cute spinners for street action like Sukhumvit Soi 4, forget it (you might find 2 in all of Zona Norte).

Apparently you are familiar with Bangkok (Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy and everything in between), Pattaya (Soi 6, Walking Street, LK, etc.) and Patong Beach (Bangla Road). On a really good day, the total of what is availability in Zona Norte, Tijuana, is far less than the worst of those Thailand options that I mentioned. On a good day Tijuana is about as good as RCA Entertainment in Ao Nang, but it is much different. The Tijuana girls are lesser in terms of beauty, service, and attitude. IMHO, losing HK is losing the best part of Tijuana. The streets of Tijuana are not safe like Thailand, you must stay in the heavily populated red light district.

I can get laid in Tijuana about 8 hours after leaving my home. I can get laid in Bangkok about 28 hours after leaving my home. Given that trade off, I still see no reason to go to Tijuana unless I'm already in Southern California.
