From Sosua News:
Manicure and pedicure salons closed on the beach.
I know I already reported this, but it is funny how one of my last thoughts in Sosua was, how vulnerable the mongering scene appeared. Is CMP next? Will there be monger centred Sosua still there for me next year?
Will there be monger centred Sosua still there for me next year?
Not exactly sure what you mean by this, but one thing I am 100% sure of. There will be ample young and attractive girls for anyone who wants them at very reasonable prices in both Sosua and Puerto Plata, all next year, and every year for the foreseeable future. All the rest about places opening and closing is just hot air. Don't object to guys swapping gossip to fill in time between trips but none of it really affects what I and my friends do.

Thats reassuring. With all the closures, I was starting to worry, that the authorities are determined to clean up Sosua for good.
Thank you all for the current Sousa news updates. It clearly shows the government's coordinated effort to clean up Sousa's image prior to the cruise ships. IMO mongering shall be available but in a less obvious manner. Maybe more private residences are used.
Ego stroking over an 18 why / o. C'mon man.

For example in Puerto Plata one will have to enter the walled cities of the Field of Dreams or Blackbeards, rather than simply sitting on the wall along the Malecon, and in Sosua, I'm not sure what will prevail, but perhaps a couple of large chica bars plus a club or two like CMP. Of course more of it may go online too, as in the USA. Things may get a bit harder for the short-time aficionados and weekend warriors, while remaining the same for the more relationship-oriented traveler.
Dude, are you one of Cuba Dave's people? I only ask because Sosua is definitely NOT in Central America.
No, slip of the keyboard. My intention was to the overall Central America / Caribbean region, which would include Mexico, which I am aware is part of North America. Perhaps I should have been more precise. I think in Geographic terms, from a monger's perspective, you have the region of Mexico, Panama and then you have "Northern South America" and "Southern South America". I have just become accustomed to this through flights and rewards points as these are basically the regions that the airlines build their pricing structure on.
Trace79 I don't want to rain on your awesome vacation and my post wasnt about credibility and I surely didn't mean to belittle you about your video in the airport. We have all been there for the reasons you mentioned. I realize your not stupid and I am not all knowing but after many years of coming and going I have a sixth sense about somethings like many here, just be careful.
It's okay man, I didn't take offense. I'm glad that you have the best intentions and I think that that is what this board is all about, just helping each other out.

I don't know what is in store for the future of this town but no matter what, this seems to be a place that is in constant change for the mongerer. Correct me if I am wrong, and this is just a random guess, but doesn't more poverty mean more prostitution? I know the political game is trying to change that but with the closing of the massage / suck shacks, Passions, El Toro, and now the little manicure stands. It seems that whoever is pulling strings upstairs has big plans and doesn't give a fuck about the little guy trying to make a living. I don't know what they have in store but to this day there is still a great time to be had in Sosua. Will it last to tomorrow. Who knows. For shits sake, I sure hope that this town doesn't turn in to the next Rio, San Jose, or Cartagena as far as prices for girls go. Sosua is still a gold mine compared to those places. I just hope that whatever agenda that may be doesn't send too much of a shock-wave throughout the Sosua community.
Regardless if Sosua changes, I think there will still be a lot of fun to be had in the DR based on it's overall economic setting. Mongerers will just have to dig deeper and speak better Spanish. Something I have no problems with.
Something I just tagged.
Sorry, had trouble uploading
i don't know what is in store for the future of this town but no matter what, this seems to be a place that is in constant change for the mongerer.
it seems that there was another meeting today with hotel owners and the local govt. there is pressure from the usa (surprise surprise) , so the govt. has to be seen as doing something to diminish **** prostitution, etc. additionally, they are going to try to 86 the more "undesirable" girls from town. they don't mind having girls around, but they want to get rid of the dregs. it appears they will be starting background checks to see if the girls have any previous criminal activities. general consensus is that its more of the same; they will tighten up for awhile and then things will go back to normal.
I think its really good of you to make the effort, take time and share your experience with the members of the board. The videos and the photos really add to it as well.
Man I concur, we ***** and moan about, arguements and useless rumors, to fill up space on the screen. We beg and long for an "actual trip report" My man Trace not only "; steps to plate"He hits the ball over the fence"out the park and rolling in the parking lot. He shares his true emotions plus has the "balls" to share his story, how he felt, then goes a huge step further. He took off his ISG "Mask" and shared who he was as a real person via video. The first page he was the greatest thing since "peanut butter" then some mongers "true to form" started the negative comments, I say it "now" as when I first read your awesome reports!"; Thankyou". Its funny we say we want "actual trip reports" then you provide "just that" then your every word is dissected and analyzed. I understand comments are warranted, but Imo, you probably didn't post your report to get this bullshit Dr Phil type scrutiny, big ups to Oldkool for just saying "thankyou" and like my man Wrx2005 would say "love-peace! And "plenty of hair grease!

This is the first female mayor and she is PRD in this political environment so who knows what the expectations are for her. The sexmongers may not think she is doing a good job, but there may be some in Sosua that are pleased with what she is doing. A lot of the prostitutes in Sosua are actually from out of town so who knows.
From Sosua News:
Manicure and pedicure salons closed on the beach.
A few days ago the police also closed the manicure and pedicure salons on the beach of Sosúa. The owners of these businesses were checked for establishment documents and professional qualifications and when in default, the shops were closed. In Sosúa and surroundings, many families depend on the income from these small businesses. So many families are again plunged into deep poverty for these closures. We write 'again' because the recently closed 16 massage parlors and the closure of El Toro bar / nightclub also duped many families.
More closures and arrests to come. This ain't passing over.
I have a chica friend who I skype with. I call her this morning and she drops her pants and plays with her self. What a wonderful way to say good morning. I think she is a retired black Beards girl. She is like burger King in that she is open all nite and you can have it your way. It is good to have a variety of women in your rolodex.
