When I go back I hope to go to Annies and possibly a couple of the night clubs where people report finding freebies. If luck pays off I may also be able to get a date through one of the various meeting sites. I want some better clothes because it is my understanding that although I am a tourist, I may get a better reception from the Thai ladies if I dress a bit better.

Lastly, and I hate to ask and feel a bit awkward doing so, but is anyone open to hanging out and showing me around a bit when I come back into town.

I suggest you go to one of the central shopping malls or Terminal 21 and pick yourself up some decent threads. It sounds like you are looking for more cheaper ladies. You have two choices. Number one you can find many ladies in Bangkok for 500-1000 baht but you will really have to sacrifice in the looks dept. If you want freebies you will have to up your game a lot. Take them for dinner and of course you can't dress like a slob. If you do this then it is the same as spending 1500-2500 Baht for a much better looking WG either in a go go or at a club!

Some people still have work to do. The folks I saw "well dressed" we older tourists, probably 60 up. No one should be "forced" to participate. It is one of the most passive agressive displays I have ever seen. Some of us don't enjoy having freezing water thrown on us and dousing someone who is unwilling is rude in ANY culture.
