Banana Boi's Journey through the streets of Pattaya
The club won't call a taxi for their customers?
Leads me to another question. How much would it cost me to hire a taxi for say 3-4 hours slowly driving me all around Pattaya, hitting every street a car can drive through? Area to be covered would be North Pattaya Road to South Pattaya Road, between Beach Road and Chaloem Phra kiat Road.
Plan is to do this on a Sunday or Monday so I get my bearings for the next 3+ weeks. Some may think it's a waste of money but I consider it more of an investment not to miss anything on my trip. If there are other main hobby areas (not including Jomtien) outside of the aforementioned area or something cool around Pattaya I need to see or do, please let me know.
I have done what you want to do. I rented a motorbike and rode up and down every Soi between Beach Rd and 2nd Rd from Soi 2 to Walking Street. You can rent a motorbike on Beach Road. Most ask for my original passport but only give them a copy. If they insist on the original passport go to the next vendor. And you do need an international license for the motorbike. The most interesting sights of Pattaya are in South Pattaya past the end of walking street and around the big hill with the Pattaya sign. There is Queen Sirikit Park, some luxury hotels and condos,a Buddha where you can buy and release some birds, go cart track, Pattaya sign, a Navy station with a memorial monument (nice views), a boat pier to go to outer island. Going to the top of the hill above Pattaya is nice and Jomtien beach is worth a stroll. They may have beer bars but I'm not sure. I have discovered all of these items by accident while riding around on a motorbike. These sights are rarely, if ever, mentioned here.
I like your idea of a Pattaya tour but I would use a motorbike not a taxi. Taxi drivers in Pattaya are lazy ripoffs.
