In Atlantis and other bars, I still think that you can ask the mamsan / head waitress about the girls. But I am a nerdy engineer. I have to take into account other view points (even though it's dubious). My personal experiences doesn't apply to the normal first time tourist. The mamsans and waitresses talk openly about barfine and everything to me. But I am a "regular" and have a trustworthy face. But definitely, you should be able to ask safe questions such as: is that girl a cherry girl? Does that girl have a boyfriend? I still think you should be able to ask, does that girl go out? It would be nice if a newbie tries it, and reports on it. A real newbie, not some fake.
If a person actually went to a bar "thousands" of times, that is at LEAST 2 years worth. Then it seems that he / she / it should be able to talk to the right person and get some FACTUAL information. Yes, Atlantis was raided last year, but if the "thousand" time person actually spoke with the foreign manager (only 1 - LOL!), then he would have told you he got lucky, and he left just before the raid (that was the story he told me last year). He was not arrested.
My perception (my opinion) is that the "police raid" fear has abated (70% of the bar raided. Huh?) You can check the Margarita and Harry the Horse websites for all the raids in the past years. I believe all are listed (is this correct?) There doesn't seem to be any raids recently; not many / any? in the past year. The several bars I visited doesn't have the ten shots or the party animal bottle requirement to "barfine" the girls anymore.
(Most bars don't accept prepayment. Huh?) FACTS: In Club Asia, you pay the girl at the bar. Same as Atlantis (it was last year, should be the same right now). I am assuming all the DH bars work the same way. In Lolipop, the barfine comes on a bill; you pay the waitress. In Q bar you pay the waitress. In Bunker Calypso, you pay at the bar. Even at the height of the police raid fear, I never paid at the hotel (although I only went to the same several bars, and I did read something about it on the net; maybe some people are reading old, incorrect information). Are there currently any bars in which you pay the entire barfine to the girl at the hotel?
The better/correct way to tell this joke: How to you know that (put the group you want to disparage here) are lying? Their lips are moving. IMO, Filipinos are a good source of information about the Philippines. Of course, you have to be smart, and read between the lines, and understand the situation and intended audience.

It is the difference between day and night Latin America / South America / Medellin destinations and AC / Asian destinations. I have been to all of the destination in Latin America several times, especially Medellin. I have never ever in my life heard a Latin American working girl say she's on mens. Prior to tonight I was beginning to think Angeles had turned the corner and was becoming a true P4P destination where the girls all wanted to make money and the only thing that is required to get the girl of your dreams is the price of admission. Perhaps this was just a slight bump in the road and Angeles has turned the corner or perhaps I had just been lucky the first few days and this is the real Angeles where success is never guaranteed and rejection is a daily and large obstacle to be overcome.

Main reason is the nudity and the lesbian / dildo shows. Also, Pattaya has better food, better transport system, more non-mongering activities, the beach (even though it's poor, it has one), more bars / more selections, and more cuter girls.
Ah, the nudity. That is why I love Pattaya. I like to have a cold beer and look at naked eye candy. In Angeles, the girls at the main bars (and many others) mainly wear either normal or G string bikinis (LOL! I wonder if some of the posters have ever been to Angeles).
Hotel prices seem to be similar (Example: prices and room amenities for Royal Amsterdam and White House Condotel are similar). If you want cheaper hotel prices, go to Cambodia or Vietnam.
Main reason I will return to Angeles is that it's a change of pace. I get bored if I stay at the same place.
Areas where Angeles is better:
1) Prices for go-go girls are cheaper.
2) Prices for the beers are cheaper at the go-go bars.
3) Girls at Angeles speak English.
4) IMO, easier to get PSE 3-somes at the go-go bars. Both places still takes effort. I don't like Devil's Den.
5) You can play Texas hold-them at Angeles. There's no poker in Pattaya.

Not to many visitors are coming to Angeles City like that since the world economy is in a slow down right now So don't worry guys, if you are American this is the perfect time to travel as the US Dollar is strong. Visitors are drying up so these girls will have no choice but too do more bar fines.

I think it was just my first night or second night there. Me and 2 other guys went to a bar near the end of walking st (right at the very end on the right side). Two guys in the group were already hooked up with girls sitting with them. I was ready to get busy so I called a girl over. She was pretty, bubbly, and sitting on my lap. I figured I would take her. I told her my buddies here are already with girls and I want to take you. She didn't say anything about not being able to perform and just continued to hug me and smile, so I figured we were good to go.
