If you have a four hour lay over in Lima between your incoming domestic flight and the check-in time for your outgoing international flight, which would be most convenient Cucardas or Trocadero?

The plan is to drop the bags at a near by cheap/safe hotel go to one of these two mataderos, then back to the hotel for a shower and back to the airport.

Is there a better way to end the Peru trip?

Any hotel suggestion for the above?

Closest hotel is "hotel manhattan" and I believe will provide schuttle service to and fro airport. It is a matter of preference but troc is closer to the airport as it is in Callao as opposed to central Lima.

Troc, on the other hand, had no screening at all so you could lug your suitcase up and down the halls to your heart's content (would not advise it though).
Usually you can check in for international flights 4 hours in advance so better to check the luggage through and then hit the chongos.

Troc closes earlier (I recall 10pm) than Cucardas (11pm or midnight I think).

For those in the US, Avianca has a $249+ tax fare to Lima. Dates are somewhat limited, and the ones out of LAX require an overnight stay in Bogota. You can even get a day and a half stopover in Bogota for another $40 or so.

These are paper tickets, so you usually end up paying another $20-$25 to ship them to you. I was able to get right up to the purchase point on Orbitz, but had problems getting the right price through Cheaptickets.com.

I've never flown Avianca, so no idea if they're decent or not. This will probably be a semi-difficult ticket to book, but might be worth it if you want to get a cheap ticket. Probably about $320 with taxes. You can also try to book it on Avianca.

Jimmy and others I flew this airline Mexico City to Quito last fall,they are okay,polite,on time pretty much,cheap promotions,too.

I think TACA/LACSA may be matching on some limited dates. Still quite limited, and you may cough up extra money to get paper tickets. Still, a pretty good price.

I arrived last night on a direct flight from nyc. I wasted no time as I checked into the hotel maria luisa showered and headed out to tequilas. I was very surprised at the number of women available at 1am on a tuesday. However let me back up a bit.

When you arrive at baggage claim there are money exchange booths that change dollars for you. One says no commision and then the other charges commision. I was a little confused as to why someone would charge commision right across the way from someone who doesn´t so I went with the commison fee like an idiot thinking the other was some scam. I changed 200 dollars and had to pay $7 commison...what a total scam. Dont make the same mistake.
When I checked into the hotel I was surprised to find an in room safe BOLTED DOWN there was another poster who said they carried it up to your room. I was very happy to see it there. All you need to do is change the combination.
Ive stayed at the ML before and thought it was rather nice however after my shower I saw a new york size cockroach crawling on the floor. I wish I had spent a few more nights before seeing that. However I have a suite with a safe in miraflores with no chica fees etc so I just need to deal otherwise I still think its a good deal.
I chose a little shorty from tequilas last night. She was average looking with a round bouncy ass and dark skin which I love. I made the right choice because a few english speaking women came up to me but they were total bitches...stay away its been mentioned before. The sex was great nothing was annoying. We showered I got bbbj and I cleaned her butt with my tounge dfk afterwards...todo tranquilo! I have her number so I can deal with her minus the club directly. I suggest others do the same.
The whole thing cost me around $70($50us for the girl) between entrance fees one $20 soles baileys for her. Your entrance fee comes with one drink. She danced with me for a long time before I bought her a drink and before any business was spoken. You can get the vibe from the girls very easily. One girl was getting pissed off with me that I wasnt falling over for her...fuck her take your time and hold some interviews. You are the boss.
I just bought a map of lima for $7 US so I plan to learn the bus system to survive here or else your at the mercy of taxis and I´m way too cheap to hop cabs for two weeks.
The room is a little sticky since its summer but there is a fan in the room. I will get in touch with a girl today that I met last time I was here.

Tequilas:
1. Every night is a good night and 1 AM it is just starting!
2. Nobody pays the cover (free passes in ML).
3. All chicas are "Independent" no salida! $50ST is on the high side $80TLN is the standard but $60.00 is possible. I have gotten $15ST.
4. Chica drinks are optional and are priced the same (which is less than upscale niteclubs like Hauringa or Coco La Mar.
5. The advantage to getting there # is not to save money(you won't) but so you can get to bed at a reasonable hour.

Avianca customer service is TERRIBLE! And forget ever getrting an award out of privilegios (their FF program).

One thing my three favorite mongering countries (Colombia, Indonesia and the PI) is HORRIBLE airlines.

LB - If you don't have a free pass, or charisma, its S/.20 entrance.
There really is no such thing as a Chica drink in T - which is what you meant - and the drinks are typically cheaper than other bars. (I'm not sure those other two establishments would like the Peruvian connotation of niteclub.)

And, who the hell paid an ugly bastard like you $15 for a short time????? :-)
