Isla Margarita

I have a problem of not being able to listen to others well. It led me to disregard some good posters here and fly to Margarita Island. Error.

First of all it is literally without people. About two months I am told. If you ever wanted to be the only male in a strip club, here you should come.

Good: free wifi in sambil mall and woody's. some chicks aren't ugly. it is cheap to live.

Bad: everything else. The place is desolate. Porlamar ugly as hell. El Agua looks ok, but is only an average beach. This part of the world has hundreds like it and many better.

Goldfingers and one other bar (starts with a C and has been mentioned here) look ok, but no one was in them. Woody's could be fun, but no one is there.

The local expat scene are the real degenerate type. As Ford stated, those who are here picked it purely since it is the cheapest place one can find.

I am out of here. Can't even make the four days Ford did.

Maybe the next guy to read this will heed the advice. Head elsewhere.
Perhaps during high season it would be better. Still the place is dry, ugly, devoid of charm and I've set the alarm to make an early flight out.

Ok shows and very hot chicas. Extremely high mileage but YMMV. $20 asking price for dances which seem to have little beginning or end, and very few restrictions.

Isla El Margarita

Sorry guys this is a different place but there is no where else to ask the question.

There are a set of islands just East of the abc's, Aruba, Bonaire & Curacao. Its called the Islands of Margarita off the Venezualan coast. Does anybody have any mongering information about this island.

The town you fly into is called Porlamar and the beach to go to is Playa el Agua. As of now I can only find information about flying into there through Caracas, which is ok, its only $100 usd round trip.

They have scuba diving there I am just wondering if anyone knows anything about muff diving in Playa el Agua. I did read on one info page there might be some local working girls hanging out at the clubs. I know there is probably no Brothels or Strip Clubs and thats not a problem.

I am curious if there is any local action as I found in Roatan Honduras. Any help is apprecitated thanks.

At night, most beach bars / restaurants at Playa el Agua close by 7pm.

Even for scuba, other beaches around the island might be better since at el Agua there are some rough waves and strong undertow. You'd want to take a boat to some of the smaller islands around for good diving.

I am currently in the Philippines but am planning to go Isla Margarita at the end of this month with my novia from Colombia.

I am just wondering whether anyone has gone to the Lagunamar Resort before. If so, any comments on it, plus what type of nightlife can one currently have at the island, especially Porlamar.

No mongering info - but you can find out about the Lagunamar.

I stayed at the Golden Paradise in Playa El Aqua in January. Nice beach, not much in the way of working girls. Ran into one girl on the beach one day and managed to get her into my hotel for an hour in the afternoon. Not a good experience, she was pretty useless.

I am not sure, because we went next door did our thing and left. I am almost sure though. I think there was a fee for guests. Read other posts, I believe someone mentioned that it was.
A good thing is that it across the street from the beach.
The Tamaca is very small and no pool. It is run by a German or Austrian couple. The food is good.

Forget the Chica Friendly Hotels. Go Short time.
Try American Bar, Avenida Miranda 12-56 and Calle Marcano. Two blocks from Plaza Bolivar, 85,000. Rooms in the back, opens at 9:30 pm. Let me Know!!!

Here s the report of my journey to Margarita Island at My Wild Vacation villa located on Playa El Agua advertised at [url]www.mywildvacation.com[/url]

I booked in November 2006 for a 3 nights/4 days stay at the "villa" of [url]www.mywildvacation.com[/url]

Based on my experiece, I would strongly discourage people from going there as this does not offer a good ratio/quality price - at 1550$ USD for 3 nigths. Furthermore, I encountered additionnal genuine problems, regarless of price considerations.

Here are the factual elements I wish to bring to your attention

1- It is claimed that you get "24 hours companionship", which is not the case since the girls hang out among themselves and barely spend a few hours with their companion. Now, I m not stupid. I did not expect the girl to actually be 24 hours all the time with me, but there was no interest from them to spend even a minimal amount of time, and this was true of all girls I saw with all of their customers. The 2 other guys with me kept asking where their girl was...,

2. The girls have lots of sexual restrictions - out of 3 I tried, only one was really liberal.

For example, one refused to., be kissed on her breasts, to be even touched on her breasts, to be kissed on the mouth, to be masturbated, to give bareback blow job and so on.

3. The "at least 2 for 1 ratio of girls for customers" advertized was not respected,

4. The villa is located on the beach on a nice location, but is quite beat up. Some rooms are without a private bathroom, others have a private bathroom, with...no roof for the bathroom. Now again, remember that your paying about 650$ per night for this.

5. Most of the girls present were ordinary looking, although there were two very beautifull ones, one of which was also very sexy and provinding great sex / i.e. Carolina

6. But the worst of the worst was that I was unilateraly asked to leave my room even if I still had one night to go. And, this, with a 30 minutes notice / i.e. at 11h30 AM I was told that I had to leave my room at noon because a group of clients was coming in and they needed the whole villa.

Now, I was indeed offered to be relocated in a family hotel away from the beach with a chica, but that s beside the point.

This is not what I wanted and I was never told I would have to do this, and would not have reserved if I had known this, so I asked for a reimbursment of 1/3 of the money I had paid, which the owner, Thomas, categorically refused to do.

I rest my case.

Now, should any of you still want to go regarless of these factual warnings, you should at least insist to pay your stay night by night, rather than pay the whole money up front like I did. So,this way, at least, you could keep a little bit of negociating power for your self, should you be subjected to the kind of shit I was subjected to.

Montreal Friend! First let me say that I have been to MWV 5 times and I am currently here enjoying what you have slagged. I am the guy from Toronto who arranged this "Canada Week" (Jan 10-17) down here back in June 2006, and have had the week exclusively booked since then. Thomas assures me that you were told of our booking and that you would need to transfer to the hotel when we arrived. So you chose to book knowing that you would be bumped.

The girls here are everything from a 10 model to the girl next door. All 6 of us have been more than happy with the girls. Those that have not performed as hoped / expected have rarely been chosen by the others in the party. As a result 4 of us have established close one-on-one relationships with our girls, just as your compadre did while you were here (incidentally he changed his return flight and is staying here for a second week - unplanned).

The price is US$2,550 for 7 days/6 nights - about US$400 a night. That is FULLY inclusive, room, meals, and girls (including 24 hrs with 2 girls) and the catamaran trip. Viking resort in the DR is US$3,900 for 4 days/3 nights - that's $1,300 a night. The villa is more luxurious but the Russian girls are ice-queen models, and rarely better than 1 to 1 ratio girl to guest. So if someone else doesn't change you cannot.
The girls here ARE 24 hr companions - mine hardly leaves my side and I've been here 5 days already. Similarly my companions have their girls with them most of the day and night, unless the guest choses to spend more time alone.

I have not encountered much by way of restrictions from the two girls that I have been with, but as with girls most everywhere BBBJ and Greek are often YMMV activities. The concept of being with a girl who doesn't kiss is an impossible "no go" for me. You make the selection, and if she isn't compatible or does not please you, you move on. I have seen more than 20 girls since I have been coming here, and I would say only 2 did not please me.

We were promised 2 to 1 ratio girls to guys. For one night (when we arrived - your last night) there were 15 girls to 9 guys - but at that time you had been in a 15 to 3 choice situation, until we arrived, and you had already chosen before we go there. When you left 15 girls to 8 guys. Certainly close to the 2 to 1 ratio. And we have all found plenty to be satisfied with.

The villa is not luxurious, but 4 rooms have an ensuite bathroom, and the other 2 rooms share 1 bathroom. The "outdoor bathroom" in one room is not a negative to the guy who's in there - except if you need to take a crap while it's raining!
Almost all of my group plan to return next year for an annual Canada Week, and several plan to return before then.

The villa is not perfect, and it is a bit tired, but it is a wonderful relaxed, friendly, comfortable environment to spend with girls and guys.

I think you overstate all of your jaded views.

Honestly, I know that most guys who go to MWV love it, and return. The odd one hates it and doesn't return. I guess you're the latter, but don't spoil it for those contemplating a visit - chances are they WILL love it.
