Manizales911, I now arrive at my main point. Do you live in Manizales? Or just travel there frequently? I always travel to four of Colombia's largest cities (Barranquilla, Cali, Cartagena and Medellin). I have never been to Pereira, Manizales and Armenia. Do the people there consider themselves Paisas in all three cities? I have wanted to go to those three cities for a long time, and I always have assumed that the smaller cities would be even better than the larger cities. It seems that your experience there confirms my assumption. Why do you prefer Manizales over Pereira?[/QUOTE]Depending on how you want to look at it I either live in Manizales part time or travel there extremely frequently, I travel to Manizales every month and stay for 7 to 10 days. My 25 year old novia is four and a half months pregnant with my child and I plan to move there permanently within the year.

I personally find the girls in the smaller cities in Colombia to be less hardcore, I have met some of the sweetest young ladies in these " off the beaten path" places. That being said, it also requires some local guidance because many of the casas with the top shelf girls are very discreet. My novia has three brothers who've gone out of their way to show me around.

There are tons of bars with dozens of lower end priced girls but they are usually in areas that I do not like to travel to at night which is when I do my mongering. I am not a young guy anymore and can afford to pay 75k cop for a sweet lower mileage girl in the 8-10 range versus going to a dangerous part of town and pay 25k to bang a 3-6. I do go there occasionally with my novias brothers because that is all they can afford but it is not my preference and I feel much more comfortable being there when I have a couple of young local dudes with me. You can and will find the diamond in the rough in these places but you will have to put your time in looking for them.

As far as my preference towards Manizales vs. Pereira or Armenia there are several reasons. My preference to living in Manizales is due to my novia's family living there and her desire to live there also. I met her originally in Cartagena and brought her back to her hometown to be with her family. I prefer Manizales also because other than the Centro area which is a very small area you can pretty much go anywhere at night and be as safe as can be expected to be in Colombia. The same can not be said about Pereira in my opinion though compared to the larger cities in Colombia it is a cake walk. Overall Pereira has more places to monger but if top quality is what you are after then Manizales has Pereira beat. In my opinion the reason for this has to have something to do with the fact that Manizales has more universities than any city in Colombia and we all know that many a college girl in Colombia sells her body for spending money.

Armenia is a beautiful city. My experience there has been limited to daytime activities with the novia so I can not speak of the mongering situation there, it is on my list of places to go check out soon though.

I just returned from ten days in Manizales yesterday and due to my novia's "condition" I spent a lot of time out and about and sessioned with a few absolute stunners and some pretty nice low end girls also. As soon as I get caught up on my sleep I promise to write a report.

If you are african american or asian american you are either negro or chino and thats it. It is very shallow and close minded but thats how these people where bought up and you will never change their way of thinking. Colombia might be the most chismoso country in south america, they live for that shit and almost of it as a daily game and a big part of their daily life drama.

I think I can go to any city in the world and find bad parts of it. If that is your goal I have no doubt you can find it. Maybe we have different objectives.

You named some pretty large swaths of land that you claim are ‘gringo havens’. Well I guess by your definition a large percentage of MED is now a gringo haven. In my building I stayed in(poblado) was all locals and the security didn’t speak a lick of English so I kind of question your assumptions.

Again maybe our goals are different. My goal was to have some fun, meet some hot chicas, see the city and come home in one piece. I felt like I did that. I think it is helpful to report to other potential visitors that going in and out of places like San Diego, Fase II, Loutron, New Life etc that things were relatively safe. To me that is useful information.

I think these boards get clouded by each individual perception of what they think is cool etc. If you are reading this site you are probably interested to know if it is safe to try to go find some girls at some specific locations. Just naming large sections of a city where most people won't go is not only pointless to me it’s misleading.

What's the scene like in Medellin? Where to stay? SAFE?

Kind of makes sense but not really a good logical argument... imagine a tourist coming to see NYC and telling them they did not get the real experience because they did venture outside of Manhattan to the BX to try some fried chicken from Kennedy Fried Chicken across the street from the projects in the south bronx so they could see how most New Yorkers live.

My impressions:

We arrived at 2:30 and was given a tour. Who do we see there, 5 ex mansion chicas and Isis working as the security guard. There was two ladies that ran a dating agency with about 5 of their chicas as well as the students. We left at 6:30. I would saw there were maybe 10 there that I would do.
