However, I realized that everyone was expecting for some kind of a present or pay for the Christmas. I bailed out 2 weeks earlier. I made my decision to stay away from Philippines during the holidays seasons.

I got a bit uneasy when my cup of tea was made from the same water (hundreds of neighboring native huts with same convenient sewerage system), my clothes washed for me in same water, and everyone was expected to wash themselves in same water, dodging the passing turds. Crime does not seem to pay in this town if you get caught. A few days ago an off duty police officer decided to steal a motorcycle parked at Jollibee next to SM Clark. The CDC staff was paying attention and pursued the thief as he tried to get away toward the mall. When the CDC and mall security guards cornered the off duty cop he decided to pull out his weapon. This resulted in 3 shots to the face and the return of the motorcycle to its rightful owner.

In addition, a drug dealer was shot twice in the back on Malabanis street last week in broad daylight by a passing gunman riding tandem on a motorbike. Just another day in beaver town.

You're arriving as rush hour has already started and will only get worse until 9-10 pm. (On occasion I've experienced horrific jams on the Osmena Highway at 1am.) Yes, you'll arrive in AC at a better time for picking up a girl, but your commute time from NAIA to AC will be longer, likely up to 4 hours - could be more - assuming nothing else goes awry. You're traveling approx. 100 km of which 35 km is in Pasay, Makati, and Quezon City. That's a mess.

the contacting doctor may not be a doctor at all,he could well be the girls pinoy husband,boyfriend etc in on the scam for a cut of cash,

If on the other hand the girl can get a dna sample from the dead baby, apply to a court for a court order to have your friend stopped, supply a dna sample and match it to your friend then he will be held liable for costs, can't see this happening somehow, as I say, most likely just a scam for money, have heard this same story many many times in the phills.

Also, in the Philippines hospitals and doctors just don't take a girl's word that a guy is the father of her baby just because she knows his name. Flip hospitals tend to want their money up front before providing service even for foreigners. It is odd that this girl would have been given care on her word alone that a foreigner fucked her.

Foreigners should keep this fact in mind. Hospitals in the Philippines do not allow unwed mothers of bastard children to list the name of the supposed father. The name of the father in these cases are automatically entered as unknown unless the alleged father appears in person and signs a sworn affidavit of paternity.

Your friend is being scammed for money. If he pays Doctor I-Know-People, he can expect a call from the funeral director next for burial expenses in an even greater amount. Once he is identified as an easy mark the florist will be calling him with a bill and the local lechonera will be demanding payment for all the pork, Red Horse and rice supplied for the wake.

Your friend should probably not return to the Philippines as he set himself nicely for this scam. Maybe he should consider this his free warning. The next one might cost him if he comes back for more. LOS might be safer if he can't quit the mongering itch.
