The little bars in the alley never opened up last night. I don't know if it was because it was a Sunday night, or it's low season, or a combination. It was hard to tell if they have been closed down for some time or just for the day. The bar at the entrance to the alley though was open and had about 10 girls and a few customers. I ended up at the Aussie Sports Bar to watch the game and had fun with the girls there but was too exhausted after a week in Pattaya and the flight up to Chiang Rai to bring any back.
I also did an early evening massage. My intent was to get a legit one, so I chose a two-girl massage, one for the feet and one for the head and shoulders. They did an adequate job and at about the 50 minute mark the younger and prettier one starting rubbing my crotch. She wanted 500 to finish the job but I decided against it to save my shot for later that night, something that never happened, even though she kept rubbing and asking over and over. My guess is that most, if not all of the massage shops in that area offer extras. Sorry for the lack of info but I hit the wall about 11 pm and had work the next day. I'll be back in Chiang Rai soon and will do better.
I've come to Phayao a couple of times and could never find any action outside of the massage parlor scene. I know that every Thai city, no matter how small, has something going on. The trick is for the farang to find it if you don't have local contacts. So I got here to Phayao and as usual was wondering what to do, when I found a really old Thai Visa post from 2009 that talked about a "small red light district" on Susan Street. The directions were terrible, so I decided to just walk the street and see if was still there 8 years later.
I started at the base of Susan Street near the lake and walked only about 5 or 10 minutes through a residential neighborhood. I then passed a few dimly lit "bars", and knew this was the "RLD" if you want to call it that. There were maybe 3 or 4 of them, each with about a half dozen girls inside. They aren't really bars at all, there are no signs or anything, just like big rooms sort of open to the street. I walked past them, then doubled back. In front of one was a mamasan who tried to lure me in, so I figured what the hell and went in. It wasn't a bar at all, just a collection of tables and chairs in an open area. I ordered a beer and someone went inside and brought me one.
There was a guy in there too and 7 girls, 2 that were really old and the rest not very attractive. I can speak Thai OK so I was talking with the guy who indicated all the girls were 500 short time except one who was 600 short time, even though to me she didn't seem any more attractive. Then the guy's phone rings, he answers and then tells 3 of the girls to leave for a customer, and they were of course the 3 best looking ones. One that was left looked OK, so I chose her before she got called away too. I paid the 500 plus 100 for the beer, and we got on the scooter and the mamasan and took us to her place, a really small room nearby.
I'm going to skip the rest of the details as it's nothing interesting. Mamasan came back and picked us up, and I got dropped off near the main road, and off I went. As this is the only thing I have ever found in Phayao, I might give one of the other establishments a try. But I think the massage places are a better option.
I can't wait to get back to Pattaya.

Are those places on Susan street itself, or on the road around the lake? Do you get a sense they're open in the daytime, or only at night?
Did you try going to Dok Khamtai district, a bit to the east of Phayao? There's some old vague info it has a small scene, but I don't know whether it's outdated or not.
For my sins, I will be working in Kalasin for a week come mid November.
A search on this forum provides little by way of intel, so I can only assume that Kalasin is a mongering desert. Is this assumption correct?

Styk.[/QUOTE]I doubt if any Farang style entertainment. Plenty of Thai style entertainment will be visible at night. Khon Kaen has plenty for mongers but it just over an hour away by road. Still an option if you are desperate by mid week. An option would be to take a Thai girl you know well with you for the week. LOL I have done maybe only one girl from Kalasin ever. So long ago, I can't even remember how pretty she was now.
Do a search for Thai Kalasin nightlife on Google.

"Hua hum" means head of the dick and not "dickhead" (perhaps both interpretations are possible). "Huu bpen hee" means you have an ear like a snatch (and have bad hearing). LOL.
If I was going to Hua Hin, I would not expect that much quality from the local massage and bar scene. Could be worth taking a really hot girl with you. If I wanted to go a great beach resort with beautiful nature, I would not go to Hua Hin. I am not quite sure what is the attraction other than it's not a massive distance from Bangkok and is not Pattaya. Watch out for monkeys that want to bite you and steal your food.
I am sure Prajuap (Prachuap) is nicer (but not for mongering). I would also prefer Krabi, Lanta, Koh Pi Pi, Koh Lipe, etc. Plenty of really beautiful places. Even have to prefer Phuket really. Perhaps others can explain what Hua Hin really has to offer.

Soi 80 is also a street with bars on the other side of the main road. You will also find massage parlors in Ponsuk road with extra service. Everything except soi 80 is within 8 minutes from girlfriendly Hilton. Thipurrai City is an inexpencive girlfriendly hotel in the center.
Hilton also have a disco with where many of the working girls go after work. Hua Hin is laid back with families on holiday and many golfers.
