A buddy (from another board) and I are leaving for BKK in a couple hours from Pattaya. Any ISG members in BKK can find me tomorrow (Thursday night) for a drink at Nana Hotel bar maybe around 8pm. I will where my Cuba baseball jersey so I should be easy to spot (I am also bald but so are many farangs). Let's hook up for a drink and to check out the N.H. parking lot action.

Unless you are looking to change thousands of dollars, there is hardly much difference in the rate. Just a few baht (2-3) per dollar. Check the changers on Suk and pick the best. Usually I find Siam bank has good rates.
Best exchange rate ,however, is through the ATM and is safer than carrying dollars & Euros or whatever.

I guess maybe I need to get out of Bangkok and see some of the rest of Thailand. I go there to work, and other than the women and the bars haven't run across much that's all that entertaining to me.
I've been to all the places on your list except the D.R. For me, Thailand is head and shoulders above Jamaica, but none of the rest. I think this is mostly because my Spanish is good, but I've got only got about a 30 word vocabulary in Thai -- it's a really hard language to learn. For Long Time though, finding a woman who will stay with you all night and all day and do a good job of acting like she's your girlfriend, Thailand is hard to beat. Also, you can't beat the variety and quantity of sexually-oriented venues -- I'll admit Bangkok is the Las Vegas of PFP. I'm just not willing to travel 48 hours round trip to go there for the purpose of getting laid.

WTF? 2 to 3 baht per USD are 6 to 10% ??

It maybe seemed so when you got home because the USD continuously lost value against baht. But I work in banking, and I can tell you Banks charge huge spreads when customers are paying with their CC abroad.
In all cities I have been, a money changer always had a better rate than the best bank. The problem is just to find the right money changer.
There are 2 money changers in the Sukhumvit area that have good rates:

and
"Vasu" (sorry, didn't find an URL for them).
What are good rates? It is when the bid/ask spread is around 0,15 to 0,10 baht, meaning today, they would probably buy your dollars at around 31,66 and sell dollars at 31,81

It was still going strong and beer still flowing when I disappeared into the hotel at 4am with a FL girl who had earlier caught my eye in the disco.

If you're a banker, you must be one of those that is fucking up the economy. I once compared the spreads with money changer vs ATM and it was less than 1baht per 100.
I usually draw 5000-8000 baht per transaction at atm, and even with US$1. surcharge, the difference btw a good money changer and atm is about b60....less than a draft of beer.
But if you want to go that extra mile, go for it ;)

Picked up a cutie there last night. Yes, the total numbers are down but there was NO police presence there while I sat at the bar last night. Was here in BKK a couple weeks ago and pulled EVERY girl that stayed with me from the N.H. parking lot. That said my experiences are limited to <7 total days there.
I use my PayPal ATM card while in Thailand. PayPal charges $1.00 (regardless of the amount of the transaction) and for a 5000 baht w/d it costs me $160 USD NET (31.25 baht/$1USD which includes the $1.00 transaction fee). I am here now and these rates are current as of this week.

The best what you can get in BKK today is 31.52. So that sounds like a really good deal for not having to carry cash.

I have heard many crazy and fun story about Thailand. From frd and ISG post. But never relliey belived the hype that much. But now I do.
Soi Cowboy. Girls all over the place. The pingpong show WOW! What a show.
Only manage to go to soi cowboy and patpon bar area. Is their any other place that you guyz can recommand? Was thinking about going to soi nana. But the tuk tuk and taxi drive tells me too many ladyboy.
Oh my frd told me I should go to ACR the club he said its crazy. And I would love it.

Probably that they wanted to take u to one of their "recommended" places rather than Nana........... taking u to Nana means they get nothing. Thoroughly recommend going to Nana, u wont regret it. Just look out for the tall "girls" with big shoulders/feet and deep voices !
