There are many hotels in Darmstadt near their main train station. The fair grounds in Frankfurt are 20 minutes by foot to the train station. You want to train not taxi. During Fair times taxis and traffic are nuts. It's a very easy train ride. If you want to go crazy you could buy a weeks train card via the web and just walk on or off but there are machines all over most train stations. Discount tickets are very cheap and the automated machines are great. You can even train from the airport pretty easily.
On the other hand. Staying in Frankfurt and trying a different club each night could be fun!!!

Cheaper, less hassle, allows you to set your own schedule; just all around a better way to go if spending more than 2 days. Driving in De is super easy.
