General Info

It all depends on how I feel on a particular trip. I have times when I enjoy bottom feeding and there are times when I like living at the top. At this point in my life I tend to stay in Suite style rooms with separate living/dining area from the sleeping area. I just like the feeling of space and am willing to pay for it. Having said that I don't frequent Makati venues or partake of what I personally consider to often be inflated pricing. I regularly see guys drop 300+ dollars a night while there on booze and cooze. Night in and night out. Not counting their cab fares all around the city. Their Hotel room. Their flights. Their food. Etc.

The one thing that I notice on all of the boards that I frequent is the overall "Backpacker" mentality of making it a contest almost to see who got the cheapest pussy or survived on their world trip the longest on a dollar and fifty cents. Woe unto anyone who pays twenty-five cents more than the rock bottom price possible. Because then that person has fucked it up for everyone else.

I also notice (often from people that are themselves self-employed or business owners) an rather large propensity to ***** or state just how far out of line any service being offered is. When the person providing the service attempts to make any profit at all. Isn't that the reason that anyone goes into business?

I'm not connected or supporting this person's offer in any way. I just get kind of tired of the same old [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140][CodeWord140][/url] and moan about how stupid someone is for paying an extra buck. Or how that person is the reason they no longer have five dollar pussy available. And how they've fucked it up for everyone else by over paying. My friend asked his filipina to send him the marriage licence and he received the following document (which is an application form for CENOMAR). She has long ago the invitation letter. Do you think that everything is OK?

I am self employed and will remain self employed. What's the problem with that?? The only way I can get there 4 or 5 times a year is to be self employed.

And I make alot more money than if I was "employed"

I wasn't slamming anyone for being self-employed. In fact, I owned my own company for many years when I still lived in the states. My comment was simply about an attitude that often times comes from that very same contingent and seems to be against anyone offering them a service while on vacation making a profit. People tend to expect five-star service combined with "Back-Packer" prices.

$650 per day, or even $350 after subtracting business class airfare, could hardly be considered 'bottom feeding' or living like a backpacker. Do you really think this joker advertising this trip at $6500 doesn't expect to make a HUGE profit? Why else would he be doing it?

This isn't a contest to see who spends the least, but it's a matter or practicality and the point of not overpaying for no reason. I think we're all in favor of that.

Actually, the first thing that came to my mind is that this "businessman" had set prices such that he could accompany his customer and give a personal tour. He only needs one customer at the price suggested and the result is a paid adult holiday to the Philippines, and maybe even a few bucks left over.

I wouldn't recommend such a service, but I have to admire the "businessman". It's not such a bad idea.

I extended my 21 day visa to 59 days (first extension) by taking my passport to a travel agent in Cebu (ATJ travels & tours) I dropped my passport off one day and picked it up the next afternoon, the total cost was P3202.00 they gave me the following break down of cost along with receipts.

Application fee 1000.00
Visa waiver fee 500.00
Legal research 30.00
Bi clearance 500.00
Express lane 500.00

Sub total 2530.00

ATJ fee 600.00
Vat 72.00

Total P3202. 00


IMHO P672.00 to have the agency handle this is money well spent.

You can take a trike to 7th st and do it yourself in twenty minutes. But you must wear pants and a sleeved shirt to get in a gov building. P672 is not much but I prefer not give my passport if I don't have to....

I am wondering if by marrying a filipina, I can get a visa that will allow me to stay in the Philippines without having to renew my visa so often.

I am also wondering the extenstion 21 days to 59 days, if there is a stamp in my passport or an actual visa? My passport is full, I have no pages left, but I have some space for stamps.

If you hold an US passport go to the US consulate in Manila they can add page to the passport at no charge.

The travel agent is one block from my hotel and it took three minutes.

When I arrived in Manila last month, I told the immigration guy that I wanted to add the extended visa to the 21 given on entrance. He told me to go to the immigration office on the other side of the luggage carousel.

The lady office worker told me to go to the curency exchange and give them $50 USD and bring the new pesos and the receipt from the exchange back to her office with an additional 550 or 525 pesos, not sure of the amount.

After about 30 minutes I had my visa. Really easy.
