I have signed on to ISG for over a year but this is my first post after living in Thailand for 3 years and now China for over a year and a half. I have been to Manila 4 times and I am going this weekend for my 5th. I am very familiar with the usual places in Ermita such as LA Cafe and Amazonia and not a fan of KTV as I get too much of it in China. I also am a frequent visitor to EDSA My question is does anyone know any good night clubs/Discos to go to with or without a gril that play either Techno/House Music or Latin Music as I dont like Hip Hop? Also, what are some of the better places to go in Makati now adays?

There's a club called Embassy, its one of the nicer clubs in Manila from my understanding. Saturday nights they play trance/house. Not as many ladies as guys when i was there on a saturday on the main floor, the VIP was about a 1 to 1 ratio. One of the owners is a friend of a friend, he told me much more girls on Friday (when they play hip hop).

As for where it is. I'm honestly not sure :) I would guess in Makati somewhere, but i can find out if needed.

There's a club I know is in Makati called Absynth that plays trance, but its a much much smaller place, really more of a bar than a club.

Because if so, I would rather stay at the Hyatt Regency for $72/night(although they do charge $20 to bring a girl in from what I hear).

I believe Embassy is at the Fort which is close to the Makati area. One other place to try is Nirvana on Taft and Buendia. They have dancers with numbers and it is a disco. However there are VIP rooms in the back but I am not sure of the prices.

I'm assuming anything goes in the VIP rooms. But, the few times I've been there we just hung out and danced a little--just like a nightclub. In fact, it wasn't until the 3rd time I was there that I even noticed the VIP rooms because this place is huge.

But that includes BVAT I think, whereas the $72 at Hyatt is likely ++ (VAT + service charge of 10%). VAT & service charge also apply to guest fee.

SO true what the guy said about the biggest danger being crossing EDSA to get to the complex! The first half is scarier as once you get to the medianm the WESTBOUND traffic is often backed up approaching the Roxas traffic light.

EDSA is ALMOST like crossing Avenida Atlantica in the REAL Copacabana; no pederstrian right of way in either country, though Rio traffic moves faster than Manila traffic.

Flew to Manila with a few friends who had never been there friday. Stayed at Hotel Niko (The Dusit Hotel). Decided to take them to the EDSA complex friday night after a few hours of free drinks at the 16th floor executive lounge. After teaching them the ropes we explored a few bars and ended up at the first bar on the right when you walk in (sorry, I was half drunk so I don't remember the name, but it's the one where they wear black and white checkerd tops).

After a few drinks and getting my friends situated with the women they wanted, I was looking for something I could try to break in half. I piicked Mai Mai who was one of the smallest girls in there. We talked for a little while and I decided to take her back to the hotel with me. After showers, we got in the bed and she proceded to a BBBJ. She constantly looked up at me to make sure I was enjoying it. After about 10 minutes I was tired of the BJ and ready to just start my mission. I pounded this girl in every imaginable position for over a hour. What ever I wanted to do she was up to. After reaching pure exhaustion and soaking wet with sweat, I exploded. She got up after a few minutes, washed off, brought me a warm towel and layed her head on me and fell asleep. This girl was a real trooper. The next morning she woke me up and started with another BBBJ. After another session we took a shower together and got dressed.

A few reminder tips for anyone going to EDSA for the first time:

1. Don't use the services of the people outside of EDSA for ANYTHING. They will try to walk you into the bar, get a cab for you, take you to other bars, sell you things etc. and they all want tips.

2. Never tell anyone it is your first time there. They were trying to charge my friends $3500 to $4500 pesos for LT when they found out it was their first time. I would not let them pay more than $2000 pesos. Only one friend had a girl that would not accept that and I took him in another bar for 5 minutes and found him another girl that he liked for $2000 pesos LT.

3. Don't be afraid to walk into the bars look around and walk out. I usually walk into each bar, stand right in front of the stage, and look at the girls to see if I see anything I like. If I don't see anything, I walk out and go to the next bar.

I have an upcoming trip to the PI and my arrival time is 12 noon. I'm staying in Makati which doesn't really get going until dusk so I was wondering what your advice would be for the early afternoon? Is it worth taking a taxi from Makati to the LA Cafe so early? I've been the the Cafe before but it was always later in the evening. I'm assuming Jurassic and the other clubs in the area are like the Makati bars and don't get going until later too.

If LA Cafe is lame in the afternoons, where else would you suggest? Thanks for your help.

I am somebody that always goes to Thailand but I want to go to the Philippines.

I am on my way to Thailand in about 20 days from now but I want to go to Philippines for 3 or 4 nights where to stay and what to do in the Philippines.
It will be my first time to the Philippines.

What I want to know is:

-What hotels are good in manila?? (I mean no pay extra to take a lady that spends the night).any website the see at is ok.

-Where are the good bars in manila or the good night life?

-Or shut I go to Angeles city for 3 or 4 nights?

-If so what hotels are good in Angeles city?? (I mean no pay extra to take a lady that spends the night). Any website the see at is ok.

I haven't posted for months, coming back to the scene after a long medical lay off and in a darling mood. Will be in Manila in two weeks and looking for recommended accomodation. Can you set up a tag under the Philippines thread covering hotels? Comments / recommendations regarding hotels are all over the shop and generall confusing. It would make it easier for all of us to find out where the best deals on monger friendly hotels in Phils are.

Hey Jackson and other fellows.

I have to agree with Daring Mood. I've always thought a hotel thread for the RP would be nice. It's why I'm here today. I'm gonna be in the RP for all of October and most of November.

I'll probably start at the Heritage. I like that area of town. Maybe I'll do a short stay at the Oxford Suites if I get the urge to hit P. Burgous.

But, as always, I'm open to new ideas.

Saw the Heritage for $75 on Cebu Pacific's website. Anybody know what rate you can get as a walk in? Other websites have it cheaper?

ALso, has anybody ever stayed at Legend's hotel in the Ortigas center? The new Lonely Planet mentions the jacuzzis in each deluxe room.

Yes, simply have a try! I was there quite regularly at noon and always found somebody who met my taste for ST! I prefer to go to SOGO Mabini for it. 3 hrs cost 300 peso or so.

Oh, sorry! It is just a famous ST hotel in Mabini street. Every taxi driver you pick in front of LA Cafe knows it. It is just a 5 minutes ride that costs you not more than 40 pesos. A great place to go for daytime action while your GF/wife waits in Pan Pacific! :) Sometimes you can find cute and willing girls at the entrance!
