Let's see how long it takes for the "African nationalists" to respond
I wonder how long it will take for some "African nationalist" to go on a rant about your statement of Nigeria not being 'civilized'. Those snooty political scientists call it 'personalistic' politics.
Macrino:
right now I am in Lagos. I am not all too certain if one can call Nigeria "civilized"! According to my experience I would rather doubt it! :)
Cheers!

Nigeria - "civilized"......
Hesekiels
Would you please elaborate on this point to which you've eluded. BTW, I do not challenge you here, rather I am seriously interested in the sociological differences between Nigeria and, say, Ghana. I'm on the verge of planning my first holiday trip to West Africa. I've been reading this thread for a good year now and find it utterly edifying in every possible respect (not just for mongering). Also, I would have to say that, by far, most of the Africans I run into here in the States are Nigerian. By and large, most of them I find to be pushy, arrogant and aggressive. (You may say that, as an American, I am "the pot calling the kettle black", to which I would respond that I'm a liberal Democrat who proudly voted for Obama! ) As you're obviously one of the principals on this board and in the West African threads, I'm sure many of us who are not necessarily seasoned in West African mongering, would be very glad to here your thoughts on why you feel one country is more or less "civilized" to a well-travelled European like yourself. And, for God's sake, damn political correctness. Just say what you think!
Thanks
@ Lars Bjoern. Question of Age
Thanks a lot fore very exiting writing and good knowledge about Ghana Planning a "study-tour" to Ghana. (2 days in Acrra) and 5 days in Cape Coast and Busua.
Would like to pick up shop-girls. Does my age mean anything? I am almost 50 but still good looking
Lars
Dear dude,
I am 53 y.o. and ... let's good looking. First time when I was in Ghana I was 51.
On the beach of Labadi I was the only (or one of the few) dark haired obroni.
On the contrary, I think that black girls prefer a mature obroni than a young one. They can always go with a young black boy, available at every corner.
Read my reports in June 2006 and 2008.
Nigeria, Ghana & neighbours
Gentlemen:
In Accra, however, I can move freely whenever I like.
Hesekiels
This really is the key. Kenya is fun in many ways but I don't even walk 200m down a hill to my usual hotel in Nairobi after 6pm. And Lagos can be a stretch at midday sometimes.
But on the subject of the Forum, most women from around the region are in Ghana. And almost all are easy to strike up conversations with but you do tend to need care with Nigerians. Frequently stunning but often ready to escalate to a shouting match over little things. Terrible generalisation but far too many instances of it being true.
So tonight I had a hard choice between a girl from Sierra Leone (Aisha) or her friend from Liberia (Victoria) over a long joking bar conversation. Both tall, slender (my favourite), luscious lips, small breasted, long hair, good movers. Both keen to spend the night in company. Even together. Both running nails along my arm and back, both standing up to dance in front of me, sliding fingers over the sides of their breasts as they raised their arms above their heads, both with abdominal muscles that rippled to the touch.
But afraid it will have to wait until the weekend as far too much to do tomorrow and oversleeping wouldn't be a good idea. So now I'm going to turn down a good night text asking to come over and store up frustration for a long night later this week.
Oh, and of course rastaman invited me to Labadi Beach night tomorrow. And it's his birthday again tonight. Must be his fifth this year.
