Last time I was in Pattaya, I found it still quite congenial. Whether you can pull some freebies is of course akin to a lottery, but I did not see much change in the scene as a whole over the several years I came here. That being said, I'm not a big fan of freebies from girls on The Game. I like to combine a hot sexy GF with some "excursions" into P4 P to spice up my life even more and have some variations. But to each his own, of course.

On the 29th, it didn't seem to be open. The bricks on the sidewalk wasn't set. On the 30th, it was open. They have a live band.
On the Pattaya People Channel, during an interview with some manage type from Hooters, he stated that it would open on January 7. Maybe this is a soft opening.

Last night, that female singer of the band was fantastic. I was on the songthaew bus, and even other people commented on her voice.
- Traffic sucks. In the afternoon, 2nd Road was horrible. There weren't any songthaews going to Jomtien, even though there was a huge crowd waiting. During the night, it was faster to walk (which I did) on Beach Road. They were smart and got rid of the parking and street carts near Walking Street, but people walking on the street made traffic so slow.
- The New Year's Eve scene was interesting. People were all over the beach. At midnight, fireworks were going all over the city (at the pier and along the beach). I thought it was neat.

My history here goes back about five or six years and in that period of time I did not experience any real big leaps in prices.
When I first came here, Soi 6 was 1000 baht ST including room/barfine. Now it is 1000 baht excluding room/barfine of 300 baht and that price hike only happened quite recently. The Pattaya Walking Street agogo scene may have become much more expensive, but I never got any girl there. For some reason that scene did not appeal to me, whereas the Bangkok agogo scene at Soi Cowboy provided me with many nice nights.
I went to Hooters tonight because my favorite fish place was closed. It is located next to Starbucks and appears to be in full swing. I got there at 745 and had to wait a few minutes for the hostess to come get me and take me to a table. I sat at the high bar table that faces the beach. There were not many customers.
From there it took 15 minutes for someone to come take my order. 30 minutes after that I inquired what was taking so long. By then the place was packed. The waitress finally brought me my cold food and apologized saying there was not many staff but many customers. I had 10 wings for 400 baht and a small bottle of water for 70 baht.
There is a mechanical bull on stage that you can ride for free. I hated that all the tables and chairs are high. There appeared to be some normal ones upstairs. It is set up open-air so I have no idea how they will run the place when rainy season comes.

Does anyone know what bar he might be talking about?
